Hi All,


Have anyone be call to perform PV for Radin Mas for the registration that had closed on 30 June 08? Wonder whether Radin Mas would inform how many PV they had accepted & is the PV can only start in 2009?

I have just shifted to Tiong Bahru area and need some advice on Primary Schools around the area for my son.
We will need to register next yr for 2010 intake.

Currently in mind are:
Radin Mas (1km)
Zhangde Pri (1km)
Gan Eng Seng (1-2km)
River Valley Pri (1-2km)
However, I noticed that all of them are double sessions.
My ideal criteria would be (in order of preference):
1. good character building
2. reasonable academic results
3. single session

of the options available, which would fit my preference?

Hi JUSTMOM, please keep discussions of Tiong Bahru schools in this thread, because we have categorized discussions under the same areas that MOE has identified.

Also, there have been lots of discussions in this thread pertaining to the schools you have listed. Do check them out to see if you can learn anything useful to you.

Can anyone advise how good is River Valley Pri? What I know thier PSLE result is also quite good.


Radin Mas have this Centre of IT Excellence.Don't know what is this good in about.

Sustained Achievement Award (SAA) Physical & Aesthetics, 2 Red Star
Best Practices, 1 Red Star

I would also like to know about Radin Mas, CHIJ(Kellock) and Zhangde. I am pondering between these three schools for my daughters P1 registration. I stay within 1Km of all the three schools. Can someone help me with the following information for the three schools

Character Development / General Student Behavior
Is it single session?
CCA activities / encouragement
Staff care and concer for the students
Ease of getting a place
Academic training and performance

[/list]Initially CHIJ(Kellock) was my first choice as it has all morning session and it will inculcate christian values. But my second one is a boy, so if I get my daughter in Radin Mas then I can skip the whole P1 registration kiasuness for my son.

Any advice ??

Hi I'm also considering these schools as you.Just my analysis & hope that would help.

Character Development

Radin Mas, No Character Development
Zhang De, Has Character Development

Both school are double session where P1, P2 in the afternoon.
Since you are staying within 1Km range, Phase 2C you are able to get in. Both schools having ballot at 1-2km (Range)

In terms of performance, Radin Mas tend to perform better. ZhangDe perhaps a few years later would be catching up.

Hi, my boy is going to P1 next yr and I'm still trying to decide which sch to go to.

I stayed @ Bt. Panjang so the <1km better sch wld be Greenridge but was told might need balloting for phrase 2C.
I was from Zhangde Pri Sch (which is getting quite popular now) and surely get a place if I were to put my boy there. But I would have to move hse

Any advice would be appreciated
