Catholic Primary Schools

Vicki, yup, I agree with you. If St Gab's at Phase 2C Supp is impossible, I am not trying anymore. Will opt for a neighborhood school then. Montfort is too far and not worth the effort. St Gab's is actually nearer to me and Bigfoot than MS.bigfoot and cherrygal - i admire you pple.
I think i will only try for catholic schools in 2B - and i think the furthest i will go is MS. I stay in Tiong Bahru. MS is already very far for me - so cant imagine St Gabs and Montfort - which is even further!!!
Think if it goes into balloting and if im not successful - i will prob go with a neighbourhood school near my house in 2C!! -

Which phase are you in? I'll be going down to St Stephen's this afternoon. We are staying in Tampines, next to St Hilda.
But we prefer to send our boy to Catholic school.
Seems like, the nearest are Maris Stella and St Stephen?
Maris Stella sounds very popular this year. Our chance should be low.
Is St Stephen OK?
Or is there any other Catholic boy/mix school near Tampines? -
cherrygal:
We thought of that too. But those we shortlisted also quite popular. By the time when we come to 2C, may not be that easy anymore. Anyway, hope we won't come to that. Monfort and St. Gabriel was just a thought. May not even want to consider in the end.

Both my nephew and son used to study at St Gab, quite a \"relax\" school i should say, my son doesn't enjoy going there and their PSLE score wasn't too impressive.I need help for info on St. Gabriel and Montford Junior.
Wanted to register for Maris Stella or SJIJ but it seem the competition maybe too keen. We are considering venturing further to put our son in a Catholic School. It seem like the take up rate for St. Gabriel and Monfort Junior is not high. In fact, there are still vacancies even after Phase 2C. Any parents with kids in these 2 schools can give me more insight of the schools? I would really appreciate that. Thanks in advance. -
May I know which schools are you applying your kid for in Phase 2B then? Why only consider these schools (st gab & monfort) at phase 2C supp? :?

As Catholic, we are looking at the possibility of sending our sons to catholic school. Our 1st choice is CHS followed by MS or SJIJ. But there may be a possibility we may not get into these schools. So we are looking at alternatives.
But we will not rule out the possibility of simply sending him to a non-Catholc school now. St. Gab and Monfort is simply too far from our hse and may not be worth it. -

2B too. Went register at MS this morning. We are not sure if we are making the right decision. Will leave it to HIM.

St Stephen is quite a good sch leh (there is a thread mentioning about this sch)...why nobody mentioned anything about this sch? :?
That time, we wanted to register for that sch as our intention was to buy a property there...but drop the idea, as the houses there very expensive! -
