hi parents
with 3 or more kids, how do u budget expenses for tuition?
i m sure cant tuition all subjects for all kids, unless super rich.
even if got $, time coordination is a problem, n plus the multiple trips.
how do u decide who gets what tuition? -
Hi,
I am a FTWM with 3 kids, age 5++ & 4 (twins).
We drive a 7 seater car as we have a maid, plus my kids are sitted in their booster seats at the 2nd row. I think it's more on safety that I want my kdis to be sitted in the booster seats. My maid will be sitted at the last row.
As for books,I do not recycle assessment books as I find it too tedious. Too much erasing to do..I think to photocopy the same book, is not very cheap as well, plus if we have to do the binding etc. My kids are still in preschool, the school needs us to purchase readers too. But I have friends who pass down to me, which we do not mind. We are thankful for that
Preschool books are not cheap too
Enrichment classes- My kids are in quite a number of enrichment classes. I signed up most of the enrichment classes on the same day & timing so that if my fil or I have to ferry, it is easier.
My kids sleep at the same time for nap & night sleep, which is easier to manage. -
With 3 kids and more, I believe tuition priority should go to those who cannot cope with their subjects at school. Aren't tuition done at home? It helps to save you time and $.
My colleague who has 3 kids, tuition was done at home on different days by the same teacher (once a week). Of course, $ is always max out to minus by end of the month with all the swimming and enrichment program.24hr-mum:

Hi, I am working full time with kids aged 8, 10, 12 and 14. (#2 being a girl) Had maid on and off but found that I do better without them. The most liberating time was the 1 year maid-less period when I just had #4 and with hubby working outside SIN.
Without maid, kids tend to be more independent. My #1 especially is very helpful. He was helping to heatup lunch and taking didi and meimei when in P4&5 when we had no maid.
All kids’ had their lights off at 8:30 pm. Only this year, allowed #1 to sleep about 10 pm. The early bedtime meant the kids have good rest and mummy have time to do housework. I do cook and bake breads for them.
Most of them do not have tuition except occasional Chinese on-and-off so it is easy on family time and budget. Being working mum without another adult (till hubby returns about 2 years ago), kids had to study independently or get help from older ones.
Now we drive an MPV but before that, we were car-less and rent weekend cars from NTUC since hubby is only home on weekends. That worked just fine. -
:welcome: to the wonderful world, that is KSP! :welcome:
