Big foot, You are right! I find the neighborhood teachers are very dedicated. My concerns are the peers' influence - they already started dating. They would go shopping, movie after school. Of course, I gal said 'thx! no thx!'. In return, they commented my gal's life is boring and pittiful. How would you feel if you were me?

Dating in secondary schools? No big deal.
      It is very common nowadays.

It happened everywhere, even in elite schools.

that is good opportunity as a teaching point - don't be pressured by peer pressure, why conform ? be yourself and do what is right for her age : study hard and be happy

yeah nothing wrong with dating. it’s very rampant in my school too. just as long as you do not go overboard.

it’s quite pointless to transfer school just because of peer influence… since they are everywhere. maybe you should let your child learn how to cope with these.

Excuse me! I am looking for interview format & entrace test content about Sec2 admission. There are many factors to consider about the transfer. I am not asking whether my gal should transfer. Most importantly, it is also her wish to transfer. She even wanted to downgrade to Normal. SOS for constructive input. Very Kiasu mum

Your daughter must do well in her Sec 1 before a school will want to consider her. Remember those schools you have in mind are those with high COP. Hence their expectations will be higher.

I don't think schools have the same transfer criteria. You may want to check with the schools you have in mind what is the process to transfer to the school. Why not call them and check with them? Or go to the school and talk to the Principal?

I don't think a school will allow a Express student to \"downgrade\" to Normal stream. MOE will not allow that too unless the student cannot cope with the Express curriculum. Btw, some of the schools you mentioned do not have Normal stream. You may want to check that as well.

              All the best.

Each school will have their selection criteria on the transfer of student… and there isn’t a fix template for the interview too.

For my son’s school, i just heard that one of his classmate has requested for transfer to another school and that boy has gone to the new school liao.

MOE will not allow her to be transferred to Normal. If your girl is really keen in changing school, I suggest you let her do most of the talking. The impact is greater if the child can convince the P/VP of her desire to do well academically. Does she has other strengths? Example, sports or performing arts. Some of the schools you mentioned have certain niche area. She can offer her talents and get immediate admission.

Hi All, thank for the useful info. My gal went to MOE to request the downgrade on the PSLE result release day. Of course, it was being turned down. All in all, she was over confident and didn’t take PSLE seriously. Now, she understands the game and put her head in it. The tutors were surprised about the result and believed that she was under performed.

I have called several schools and they will open Sec 2 admission by July or later. I think this few months would give her more time to prepare. Her talent is Ballet grade 6. I will continue to call other schools. Again, really thank for your tips. They are very helpful.

Transfer of Schools…Most schools would ask for a reason, i.e. change of address, bullying in previous school.

Schools will request for previous year’s results, teacher’s recommendation and other supporting documents. During interviews, try to get your child to be more out-spoken. Let her express her views to the interviewer. Usually they will question why she wishes to transfer.

This kind of thing is present in every school. I'm from hci and because of the future school programme my friends go on frequent lan gathering at mac.
