Sorry, tried looking around but could not find the answer. Thought it would be faster to ask.

If MGS does not accept PV, why is there so many applicants under Phase 2B? Church affiliation? Grassroots?

Hi, was wondering if anyone may wanna give their advice or opinions about my dilemma...

DD1 will enter pri 1 in 2012. 4 schools (as verified by LTA) within 1-2km are:
        MGS
        Pei Hwa
        Keming
        Bukit timah

MGS does not accept PV so will go by faith and prayers and still try for 1st choice. Now am thinking of 2nd choice school (since may need to do PV if it is a popular school). Heard/read good stuff about St Anthony's (which is not that far from me as I am in Upper Bkt Timah) as well as Keming. Considering CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace. Am not so keen on Pei Hwa... Which school do you think I should try to focus on for my 2nd choice? Would appreciate advice given. Much Thanks.

          You bet!!!

They can reject PV but they can't reject church affiliation and grassroots.

Both are equally good but you may want to find how yr chance to get in. Are you aiming at Phase 2C?

Yes. I am considering if I wana try MGS during the Phase 2C. In a dilemma now as MGS is nearer to our place compared to HPPS.

                      typical kiasu parent.

I managed to enrol for HPPS in Ph 2A2 but as MGS is nearer and within 1KM, I am thinking if I shld give up HPPS to consider trying for MGS. Of course there is a risk involved.

They're very different. Do you prefer an all-girls school or a co-ed one? A Methodist school or a secular one? One with an affliated secondary school or one without?

If you have sons, you may want to consider HPPS over MGS just so you save yourself the registration headaches later on. However if you only have girls I say MGS. simply because I prefer an all-girls environment and that it has an affliated secondary school.
