        For academics , its mummy.

For unconditonal love, its daddy. 😉
I prefer it this way. 😓

But this year letting Daddy handle the MT since i can neither read nor write in MT 😢
And realise its a tad too stressful for both - he can complicate things and reduce the joy of learning , sigh!

I wonder if I’m the only one who gets frustrated easily when teaching my kids. Any suggestions to keep cool?

How old ur kids? I started very early like two years old not really academically.Just Teach animal names, one name at a time. When I were going out I asked qns.We were enjoying learning together. When he said a word I just got so happy and continued my teaching journey.

Now got older(P3) he just doesn't like to practise. But I firm with him now.So he doesn't have any choice just do.
Teach kids we need a lot of patience and a lot of time. When I want to finish hurry,I lose my patience and ending in bad experience. So I finished all my work and forget all later on work and be with him until he finish.
                JMHO.

If kids are easy to teach, they won't be kids. They will be angels. Usually it's easier to teach someone else's kids than your own. Why do you think the tuition industry is booming?

One solution is to play tag-team with DH. When I lose my cool, he takes over.

I spend an hour each evening going through what was taught for the day. I do have a current school teacher coaching my daughter purely on mathematical concepts once a week. I find it difficult to teach current maths topics plus I do not want to confuse her further with my ‘wrong’ method of teaching.

With all the homework…I’m lucky if I have an hour in the evening to revise with my DD. How do you manage the time? I’m a stickler for my DD to be in bed by 9pm.

Think it is important that both parents get involved. There is no better gift to children than having both parents nuturing them harmoniously. And the 1st 5 years are the most important years as children form their learning habits and behavior.
