for van rentals - you can just get the hotel concierge to call for you.

if you rent an SUV it will cost you around 2,500 Baht / day. If you need a SUV with driver it will cost you about 3,200 Baht / day. So, if you’re looking for a cheaper van then it should be relatively cheaper. They give discount rates when you book for more than a week.

oh - the reason why i say book through the concierge is because they can help you negotiate with the Thais. or at least enquire.


my husband had this crazy idea of driving around thailand while we were there, but it wasn’t the car cost that intimidated me… it was the traffic. i told him it was better to just take a taxi and not be too adventurous.

I heard the Bangkok Asian Hotel (there are like more than 20 cases online reported) is haunted and so is the Baiyoke Sky Hotel (few cases)… Anybody knows if Pathumwan Princess Hotel is haunted? Very scary to go there… Especially since its the 7th lunar month

Is it true that there will be flood during year-end or just an one-off incident last year?

Do you mean Asia Hotel? I stayed there a couple of times, nothing unusual happened to me. But the service from this hotel sucks. I'm going BKK tomorrow, staying at Novotel this time round.

Do you mean Asia Hotel? I stayed there a couple of times, nothing unusual happened to me. But the service from this hotel sucks. I'm going BKK tomorrow, staying at Novotel this time round.

There are many new Novotels that are very worth the stay.
The old ones are quite shabby. But the ones near Ploenchit and Platinum are newer and very worth the stay.
