I didn't go but I was watching the show on TV, off and on. One big complain I have is all the pre-canned videos they made this year. If I want to watch a video of NDP, I'll tape it because the live event was special, not because some star was in some video which I could have watched some other time. Kind of spoilt it for me.

I was hoping to see that \"1000 drones\" show but I seemed to have missed it as I was channel surfing. Did it come on at all?

I guessed they must have planned to have these videos many months ago, not knowing when the country will be relaxing the rules ?

The organisers should arrange for the 2009 Ox kids to attend in 2023 since it's too late to accommodate them this year. The 2010 Tiger kids can attend in Sec 1 after their PSLE this year.

Never mind if it's gonna be at the Padang. In fact, the historic Padang is even better than the floating platform. For the floating platform view, one can go anytime during F1 or simply book a room at Ritz Carlton!

But the Padang view is the ''Merdeka!'' backdrop which is better, except no Navy water stunts to watch lah.

Last years “the road ahead” is very good - finally one good one after many years.

Even the actions are very catchy.

I havent even heard it yet but in previous years the song would have been aired ad-naseum throughout July already.


DS said this year’s song (learnt in school, of course) is too fast, more like for dancing than singing. Tune not catchy or memorable enough for most people.
