“Who gets priority when two applicants have the same net aggregate score?

If you have the same net aggregate score with another applicant for the last place in a course, posting will be determined by citizenship status, in this order:

Singapore Citizens (SC)
Permanent Residents (PR)
International students

[b]If both of you are SCs, the one with a better gross aggregate score will be posted to the course.[/B]

If there is still a tie, a computerised ballot will decide the posting outcome.“

I looked at Form A, on page 9 of the JAE Booklet. It does not require you to input your score.

Section A is personal particulars.
Section B is your 12 choices.
Section C is elective programme.

If it is already indicated, it must be raw before bonus, because they dont even know if you are applying for section C which gives you another 2 bonus points, so it makes sense to show the raw right?

If you are doing O levels, DON'T drop HMT if possible. Even if you get a C5/C6 for HMT, you can still get the 2 bonus points. Besides the HMT barely improves the the University Rank points when you talk about admission into our local unis.

No, English cannot be used as one of the R5.

MOE use the combination that gives the student the lowest L1R5 score, so if the student is confident of passing HMT, why should he drop it? Besides, if the student passes HMT, he gets two bonus points and won't need to take H1 Chinese in JC.

Thanks. I'm 40+ 😓 . In my time the 6 subjects must include MTL. There was no B MTL. There was also no IP programme.
HMT was in its' infancy ( just started being offered to top 5% of each cohort only as there was no foundation or HMT in primary level). O level 6 subjects must include - English, MTL, any Math, any science, any humanities( there were no combined humanities). The 6th can be any subject. So the grading was a lot tougher. Most express students took 9 subjects. Top students took 10 subjects. Weaker students took 8. Compared to the 6 to 8 subjects now. The variety of subjects offerred is also a lot more now. A lot of changes compared to my time. But the changes are good for current students.

No, L1R5 cannot be EL, 2 Ma, 3 Sc.
No, it is not compulsory, your L1R5 can be without HCL, but still get to minus 2 from the total if you pass HCL.
Yes, the L1 in L1R5 is either EL or HMT., so you can do HCL, 2 Ma, 2 SC, 1 Hu, and that makes your L1R5 without EL.
