Thanks for the suggestion regarding the usage of the higher-denomination vouchers, @<bdi>slmkhoo</bdi>. I spent ~90% of last year’s CDC voucher at hawker centre stalls on take-aways and bakeries. Maybe I need to be more “thick-skin” - I felt paiseh to use voucher + cash if I did not have exact amount for the top up as I thought it’s quite troublesome for the hawkers to scan and then give me change (sometimes it’s only 1 person cooking + collecting payment). This resulted in me being unable to “take advantage” whenever I could have used vouchers as part of the payment.

Another issue is the cost of per meal is usually below $5 andI didn’t want to intentionally upsize or get more food at the same stall just to be able to use those $5 and $10 denominations.

I guess the main reason why they have to fix denominations is because they are some who need to use the vouchers in hard copies?

For example, Venus in Clementi (HDB premises) accepts CDC vouchers, but Venus in Tiong Bahru (in a mall) doesn’t. Of course, not all businesses want to apply.

I just had a big Fairprice delivery - if I had remembered, and realised that supermarkets would likely have offered another round of return vouchers, I would have waited! I probably won’t try to get any now - no space in the fridge, and buying $60 worth of non-perishables will mess up my routine of online ordering. Still, it’s nice to have the extra cash to spend, so I’m not complaining.
