I actually meant to ask if it is possible for a homeschool child who has sat for PSLE to return to secondary school at sec 3? What is the process like? Thanks

Child would need to meet the admission criteria set by the secondary school they wish to apply to, which might include a review of their PSLE results. Each school may have different requirements for entry into Secondary 3, and the school will typically assess whether the child is academically prepared to join at that level.

I presume this is your child - are you living overseas currently? Or is he being homeschooled in Singapore? What was the reason for homeschooling if he had taken PSLE?

I don’t know if SPERS is only for “Returning Singaporeans” (from overseas) or for any Singaporean “returning” to a Singapore school. This is something you should probably clarify with the MOE hotline or write in to ask. Certainly, there will be some form of testing required, whether an official exam or administered by a school. Again, check with MOE, or if there is a school you are interested in, ask at the school for advice.

If he had applied for Leave of Absence from that school, it should be easier for him to re-join the same school.

However, if he doesnt have any secondary school at the moment, he probably has to sit for the SPERS exam for sec 3 entry. Can practice on Sec 2-3 level English, Maths, Science papers. The other subject are not tested but could be a huge shock for the child if not currently learning them at home.
