<![CDATA[Newbie setting up a website for the first time]]>I would like to set up a website. A simple 2-3 page one initially, to provide info, but potentially one that might include other features, including online sales. My questions:

  1. Can you suggest website builders which are free/cheap while allowing me to use a custom domain name?
  2. Which website builder is good for people with absolutely no coding knowledge, and poor design skills? Preferably one with easy-to-use templates!

You can get your domain name there.If you have a google workspace account you can link it up to it as well for email managements.
There are tons of features for beginners to intermediate users. You may also check out my website i build www.stbbsg.com on WIX and some coding. But for most part of it, if u need a simple website WIX can accomplish it flawlessly.
For designing of e.g. logo or photos, use canvas ,pretty good!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a simple website on Wix now. I don’t plan to sell on my website, at least not in the near future so will stick with this for now.

Use their one month trial with custom domain. Once you have sales then you can finally go with their subscription. Or if you have some advanced skills then you can use wix or wordpress.

There are multiple plugins (also free) that you can use to add ecommerce and payments etc. later on.

I would say using Wix is a little similar to working on MS PowerPoint - in the sense that most of the stuffs are drag and drop + WYSIWYG. It should serve your basic needs for a start. 😉

It’s quite straight forward. However, I did not use it for online sales but have read that it has such functionality.
