My kids refuse to continue with Grade 6 Theory. Can some piano teachers give me some insights ?<br /><br /><br />They have passed their Grade 5 Theory. They only want to continue with Grade 6 practical and move on to Grade7 and 8 practical.</p>

As a teacher, I have to say, grade 6-8 theory helps in the higher grade practical as it helps the student understand the structure of the music in a better way, but then, how many teachers actually point these things out to a student?  Not many.  Anyway, even if you want your child to pursue practical music beyond grade 8, it still won’t be necessary to take grades 6-8 theory.</p>
