It is well-made, the aluminum construction adds a bit of a premium look to it and the lamp is very stable.

i bought the 3M light filter, the new one BL series and the light bulb can buy off the shelf, it is mainly the filter that we pay for, about $180

Hehe, I meant those that can clip on to the table , instead of just put on the table top. Because my kids table are those that can slant, so saver to use clip on type.

oh my children table also the ergonomic table that can slant. hhehehe i put the table and raise the table top, so far never topple still very steady. No idea on the clip one cos din wan to get , worried that it will spoil my table top

What's the difference between those table lamps that use energy saving bulb and those led lamps?

dunno about Led lamps cos expensive loh but the staff at homefix told me that for table lamps, most are using energy saving bulb and mostly philip brand. It is the table lamp with filter that is the difference. Before buying the lamp, i mainly switched on the light in the room and mostly i did not notice the area where my children are studying are not that bright until when i bought the lamp. It is only once study over and switched off the lamp, i realised how dark it is even though the whole room is brightly lit with white light. At least after 2 hours of studying, both myself and my children are not complaining eye strain cos my children doing the writing and i am doing the teaching.

i saw the new one Philips Led lamp which the head can be twisted from left to right but the surface of the light seem quite small so not sure if will be bright enough. thinking of getting 3M TL1000, so asking if anyone using it?

make sure the light from the lamp not too glaring to ur kid or may develop eyesight problem.

The light from the lamp should not be glaring or make the eyes painful. The one I put on son's table made my eyes painful, thus decided to invest in the 3M polarizing lamp. Missed an earlier promotion of 15%. Now the same one selling at BookFest has 20% discount and selling at $134. 😢

Frankly, I find no diff between all these lights, be it 3M, Philips, etc... it's the bulb that makes the difference. I go merely from cost point of view. 🙂

Hi buzzmario,

The panasonic one verykiasu mentioned is on sale at Isetan right now. The model SQT829 is pretty good and 168 selling for 128 while stock last. If the store has no stock you can order and they give free delivery. I'm not getting that though because dd prefers a smaller one but also panasonic.

Notice the panasonic light is quite warm but still cooler than the 3M one. I've decided to get the Koncept LED one for dh work table. LED lights emit very little heat.
