My son wanted to try but in the end he did not switch. When PSLE results came, both my ds scored A* for both Math and Eng but the girl scored A* for math and A for Eng. My son then commented " Lucky, I did not make the switch"

An earlier post did mention that they put up very impressive students’ essay outside the centre.
It could really be the student is already very good.
As a parent, when we look for a tuition class for our children, we really need to know what are we really looking for. From a B to A or A to A* or low A* to high A*. Some of these centres may be good at heping a child from low A* to high A* but may not be skilled to help those who are average and wanting to push higher.

A real test would be to see how they fared in other sections of the paper. The school would be able to see the analysis of their school’s performance in each section. And the average of other schools are also given.

But I think now MOE also stressed, must look high and low for passages or questions that have not been done before.

No improvement shown but thinking may be not suitable for my kids. You can see that those results posted outside the noticeboard were mainly fr "top schools". I knew of a boy fr son’s sch whose essays kept appearing in the noticeboard but he is the top student in sch and now still a top student in sec sch. so i juz feel tat these students are good not totally becoz they attended Growan.
