Yes, although they have great teachers but seemingly all the teachers leave around 1 year or less. Thus, my kid that had been with them for about 3 years, have close to about 4 teachers. Each teacher comes out with their own new syllabus and thus the responds is pretty bad.
Also, When we asked for the statement of payment from the schools. it is remarkable that their admin staff is all over the place. There is no proper table for the payment that was made to the school and no avenue of the dispute.
parents, please also take note that their termination \"in writing\" is not that we write an email or whatsapp or even letter informing them about the termination BUT WOULD NEED TO HAVE IT IN THEIR PRESCRIBED FORM.
Thus, unless you are alright with the amount of shenanigans or circus performance by their company, I strongly suggest against going to this center. There are many more better options than this.
Hi, I am actually requesting the trial from Edvox Music School recently and realize it is payable trial instead and the cost is very high. It is sg90 + 8% gst, so means i need to pay about sg100 per 30 mins trial. I am still in dilemma if I should bring my little kid to attend coz not feel worth to go.
Would you like to share more likewise which branch are you referring, how old is your child and if the teacher manage to handler younger kid (non primary kid, which is my most concern)? Appreciate very much.

My children have been taking both violin and piano lessons since their childhood. Starting from Funtime Lessons to full-fledged ABRSM examinations, I'd say that we are now long-time patrons of the school. Over the years, it would be a lie to say that the rise in fees did not bug me at all, but I have come to realise that the school has been beefing up their curriculum, as well as hiring more qualified and experienced teaching staff to help my children and other students to grow to their fullest potential. Having changed teachers quite a few times, my children have gradually found permanent teachers that are best able to teach and maintain a good rapport with them, and I am very happy to see them grow and develop their talents in this sort of learning environment. All in all, I recommend giving the school and its teachers a little faith as they do try their very best to cater to the needs of our children and they also do provide numerous platforms for your children to exhibit their talents, be it through musical performances or internationally-accredited examinations.

What are your thoughts on this? And which branches have you enrolled your kids in, if any? Do share your stories :imcool:

Hi, my children have been taking piano lessons there for almost 3 years now and the teachers there are very patient with them. What I really like about our experience here is that the teachers really took the the time to curate different methods of teaching to suit my kids needs and learning habits!

most of our teachers have Bachelor or Master degrees. 🙂
Our Funtime Doreme class is a 1 year music appreciation course. They will learn piano for 6 months and violin for the next 6 months. They will be taught the basics like note reading, rhythm, etc. After their piano / violin terms, they can start individual piano / violin lessons. 🙂

I still remember I first stepped into Edvox Music School at Hougang and I was talking to a plump gentleman sharing with him what I wanted for my violin lessons. The plump gentleman turned out to be the Principal of Edvox, Mr Foo. Very nice guy. And I started attended lessons taught by him. Due to my lazy nature and procrastination habit (very bad I know), I stopped going to lessons. Then Edvox started opening a branch at Marine Parade and since I am living at Marine Parade, I signed up for my violin lessons again, under Ms Rosemary. A very nice, patient, lady. I spent like 4, 5 years under her before I stopped my lessons due to personal reason. Years passed, Edvox opened a few other branches at various places. Recently, I am thinking of continuing my violin lessons at Edvox but was disappointed to learn that their course fees are highly expensive. I still remember I paid only $250 for my Grade 7 violin practical course fee a few years back and now is $321 per month. And also need to pay a refundable deposit of $150, a 2 months upfront and a registration fee of about $40. A total start up fee is about $880. Omg ! I wish to return to Edvox as I believe they are professional since their teachers are degree holders. But the course fee really turn me away.

Glad to know that you've enjoyed your lessons with us in the past and that you're looking to join us again!
I believe you're referring to our Waterway Point branch in regards to the fees.
Grade 7 violin fees are actually $300, Waterway Point and Kovan branch charges GST. There is no GST at our Marine Parade, Choa Chu Kang and Tampines branches. 🙂
The higher initial cost is because our school fees at Waterway Point is paid through GIRO, and GIRO approval takes around a month, therefore, school fees for the 2nd month is charged along with the first payment. We believe this is most convenient for busy parents and students 🙂
If you're still staying at Marine Parade, teacher Rosemarie is still teaching in our Marine Parade branch so you may wish to consider our Marine Parade branch as well. 🙂

The teacher has bachelor degree of music but she could not really teach well. She did not correct my dd’s posture when she did not hold the violin & bow properly. Can see that the teacher did not have much passion in teaching. I then switch my dd to another home based teacher & she improve so much after only 1 month lesson. Prestigious school does not mean having good music teachers. Good teachers usually doesnt teach in music schools.

I dont understand the purpose of your complaints ? I am not related to the school in any way. Just feel that the school is merely doing the right thing in deterring late payment and enforcing their policies. School has high overheads and bills to pay too.


I am not complaining anything here, I am just stating what I feel and I am checking if anyone having the same feeling as me. Every company have their own overheads to pay. I have 4 kids and all taking various enrichment at various centres, and this is the first centre that enforce late penalty charges to their customer. Of course they have their own right to enforce their policy and parents have their own rights to choose their own enrichment centre.
You can say that if I am not happy I can go to other school. Yes, I am slowly pulling out all my kids from this school.
