To renew Myanmar maid’s passport, you need to go to Myanmar Embassy website to make e-appointment to get Q number.
They will send you email, filled in the form and bring along on the day of appointment.
Sent my helper on day of appointment around 8+ in the morning, she stayed there to wait for her turn and finished applying within 2 hours. Collection is on same day from 3pm onwards, she collected within an hour.
Total cost $55 ($20 for photo taking & $35 for passport renewal fee).
Quite hassle free.

I have the same dilemma...

Her pp is expiring 2017 Feb, just renewed her contract this year (March 2016). But I'm thinking of dismissing her already....can she not renew the passport, and I'll just send her back in January 2017?

I managed to secure an appt at the embassy only in June, by then, the validity will be only 6 months. is the 9 mths expiry stringent?

Am I still able still renew the passport without going through an agency?

i have emailed the embassy, all i received was a bunch of Q&A, nothing relevant to my questions at all. :roll:

Hi, I've just renewed my Filipino maid's passport and she's only with me for 4 months. She's a transfer maid. I'll share with you all how I did it. It's actually very easy. NO need to go through agent despite what you have read online. My maid confirmed this with the Embassy people herself.

1. Book an appointment with the Philippine embassy to renew maid passport at least 9 months before expiry. Booking is done via the embassy website http://philippineembassysgconsular.chec ... ments.com/. Follow the instructions there. You cannot just walk in for passport renewal.

2. Prepare the following documents before the appointment date.
a. Original copy of S$7,000.00 performance bond - Can buy from Income, cost me $71.69.
b. 2 original copies duly signed Standard Employment Contract - download from http://www.philippine-embassy.org.sg/wp ... s/SECD.pdf and fill them up beforehand.
c. 2 copies of Undertaking of an Employer - included in the form downloaded from 2b.
d. 2 copies of worker’s work permit
e. 1 copy of medical insurance - you would already have bought this when you first employ your maid
f. 1 copy of employer’s IC
g. 2 copies of original passport
i. Application form for passport renewal - Download from http://www.philippine-embassy.org.sg/wp ... tappv2.pdf

3. On the appointment day, go there early. You don't have to go down personally if you have prepared all documents in advance. Your maid can just go there herself.

4. At the embassy, your maid will be asked to pay for the following processes:
a. Authentication of Contract (the contract that you filled up at 2b) – $ 42.50
b. Verification of Contract – S$17.00
c. OWWA Membership – S$42.00
d. Passport - S$102.00

That's it! My maid will collect her passport in another 2 months' time. All information and forms can be found at the Embassy website.

need some help here with my Philipino helper passport renewal.

We can do it ourselves at the embassy right. But few qns:
1. the requirement states $7K performance bond. But I went to check my WPOL online, my bond purchase was only for $5K…

2. do I need to bring my helper there to the embassy in person for the application ? for the collection?

3. the passport & work permit expires around the same time. So I have to renew passport first then work permit right? Else MOM wont issue a renewal work permit if her passport is less than 6mths expiry right?

4. now the home leave part. She’s asking to go on homeleave only in dec. which is about 4 mths after I submit for passport renewal.
Can I apply the home leave together to save time save cost at 1 shot? how long is the validity?
Or I can only apply home leave again when in nov? (afterall I havent purchase any air tickets yet too).

Yes. After your maid submits all the docs, take the photo, pay for the passport, they will ask you to proceed to the 2nd floor for what they call an interview, you will need to sign a couple of docs which I believe is the work contract.

If her passport is expiring soon, renew passport first.
When you renew WP, the WP will expire 1 mth before the pp. eg if her pp expires in Dec, the WP will expire in Nov.

My Filipino maid with us only 3 months. She needs to renew her passport soon. I hired her without agency. I download the employment contract from MOM site and we signed it. On the Filipino embassy website I found, that the employment contract need to be verified. Please let me know,
- what is procedure for the employment contract verification?
- is it possible to do it same day with passport renewal appointment?
- how expensive is that?
- who needs to pay passport renewal fee? An employer or a maid?
- do I need to be in the embassy for the contract verification?

Since your maid is with you less than 2 years, you'll need to engage an agent accredited by the Philippines embassy. See the website uploaded FYI. For my maid, we did the renewal ourselves, the pp renewal and contract verification is $203.
