She is currently sec1. my husband wants her to transfer as she is failing subejcts. but i do not want her to transfer. are we allowed to change school halfway through the year? and what can I do to stop her father from changing her school?

Have you check with her teachers why she's failing subjects? What about her classmates? All they doing well or not? It may not be the sch's fault, got to check to see what problems your daughter is facing.

Hi. she is in a very good school with very good friends. I know all her friends. her grades are always going up and down. her friends , some are doing well , some are not.

Hi kiasuverymuch,

My take - we need to give our children a transition period from Primary school to Secondary school. They are taking on more subjects now and to fail a subject or two – I find it is reasonable. We can always take necessary measures to step up his/her learning. I am sure after Term 2; our children will have a better understanding and knowledge to handle the subjects. I wonder if your daughter is too involved with her basketball CCA that neglects her study – too tired each time after training like 2-3 days per week. Do find out the root cause before making the final decision.
