We have been to a number of clinics who specialise in scoliosis and can tell we are thankful of finding scoliolife which is run by Dr Kevin Lau whos is not a medical doc but a chiro. This clinic integrates chiro, physio and bracing with a brace that allows for correction of the scoliosis. I would recommend parents to check them out as they have been around for 20 years and have a number of awards from around the world. We use to go to a physio who gave schroth exercises and then went to a clinic for a boston brace but our daughters curve kept increasing. Now after 6 months I am happy to say our daughters scoliosis went from 48 degrees to 35 degrees in 6 months with the ScolioAlign brace and therapy they offered.

For those getting results from the HPB recommendations check them out we wish we did it sooner and hope other parnets dont waste valuable time seeing their kids scoliosis keep getting worse. heres the link: https://scoliolife.com/en_SG

Dr Kevin treatment really worked. His brace was difficult but over time my girl was able to wear it for 20 hours and even to school which was a challenge. Our daughters curve went from 45 to 23 in 6 months.

As a parent, I want to share our experience with Dr Kevin Lau and ScolioLife. After reading a post on this forum 6 months ago, we decided to try his clinic. The staff very professional and well-trained, and the doctor very patient and explains everything clear. Most importantly, our teenage daughter's scoliosis improved by 17 degrees after treatment.

Initially, we go HPB and their specialist, but her curve keep getting worse sia. With Dr. Kevin Lau's guidance and hard work, we finally saw improvements. On his website and Facebook got so many good results.

Only thing is, since his clinic private one, the prices higher. However, seeing the results we were looking for, we believe it was worth it.

It felt like with scoliosis, the best option is always go to an ortho doc or surgeon especially where kids are involved.

In Feb19, when I first brought her to HPB to check, doctor there said theres no need to xray as it was less than 7 on the scoliometer. We brought her for weekly swimming after that as we read that it was a good exercise for scoliosis. 6 months later in Aug19, her curve worsened and this time, doctor did an xray, found that it was 21 degree and referred us to KKH. She said likely need to wear a back brace..Earliest appt was during her PSLE :(. I managed to get one on Oct 4, just after PSLE. Been reading up on various treatments and chanced upon this thread. I would be grateful if anyone can share their experience, whether with dr kevin lau or others. TIA!

My daughter is 11 yrs old, and just found with scoliosis but she had double curve and already around 38 degree 😞 We had our first appointment with Dr Lau, we were told she had high risk, and recommended for her to do treatment + brace. however for her condition, she needs to wear the brace around 23 hrs a day !

I really can't imagine a school girl to wear a hard brace for 23 hrs a day for years, my heart is already broken. I really would appreciate any sharing from parents might had similar challenge before, and share with me on what's the best way for a kid to wear a brace for so long??

Also I saw some parents mentioned about pilate, could you recommend me any good place/doctor for the pilate class? As all other parents, i'd willing to try every method to get a slim chance to prevent it from worsening again ...

Sorry for my late update. Have not been accessing this forum for awhile. Regret to inform that my daughter's treatment was Dr Kelvin Lau was not successful. After 24 sessions in 3 months, her degree did not stablisize, worse it has gone up. Initially Dr Kelvin Lau informed that her degree has better by a few degree but when I told him that we have recently went to NUH and measurement given by mainstream dr suggested went up further. Dr Kelvin Lau remeasured and finally agreed that her degree went up a little. He further suggested that we sign up for more intensive program. We have decided not to.

Guess the program may or may out be suitable for all kids and a lot also depends on the child, if he or she has been diligent in the exercises recommended. Tks
Hi Superbugs sorry to here about your progress. Yes I think no treatment is 100% effective and his treatment does require the person to be committed to doing their exercises taught by Dr Kevin Lau. I would still recommend others to try non-surgical before going under the knife. We are glad to put this behind us as my daughters curve is stable and the hospital has discharged her.

Going to Dr Kevin Lau for his non-surgical treatment of scoliosis was still the best decision we made.

After much research and going to 5 different dr we chose Dr Kevin Lau. Most hospital specialist would only recommend surgery.
Dr Kevin offered to try one session and did not push any packages. He even suggested we go home and talk about it as a family before deciding. 2 months in and my daughters happy with her treatment so far. 😄

SpineCor brace should be good for any degree below 25 degree…anything further than that might not be advisable.
Additional on that, It has to be wrap it back correctly every time you unwrap it.
