<![CDATA[Shichida Right Brain Training - Discussion]]>Okay, finally sign my boy up for Shichida after much consideration. Does that make me super kiasu? :oops: is my boy going to have photographic memory or six sense when he grow up? That will be nice. Exam will be a breeze with photographic memory....then he will have more time to spent on being a naughty boy... Or does knowing how many dots there are on a piece of paper at a glance helps in his future...hmmm wonder if I make the right choice.


what are progress is like for the parents who have sent their kids?

Just wanted to share that I have withdrawn from Shichida. I’ve send the notification to them in Nov 2019 to inform them about my withdrawal. They told me that they had processed my refund in Feb 2020. I had to send a few chasers and threaten to go to small claims. I managed to get my refund in July 2020. A good 8 months. Just FYI.

Lesson contents are more structured. Almost the entire lesson is on hands-on and interactive activities. This allows the children adequate time to explore and understand the concepts.

Fees are a lot lower which makes it even more value for money.

I don't think this should be the case unless you change to a different class.

Based on my own experiences...
I have been with Heguru, the Waterway Point outlet, since day 1 and the same teacher has followed through term after term.
I have also been with British Council, the Tampines outlet, and the same teacher followed through the whole year.
Same goes for Berries.

Confront that particular Shichida teacher or management to address your issue directly.

Or file law suit against Schichida Singapore and maybe Japan if you think there is misinterpretation of facts, or Shichida took your money but didn’t make your kid into a genius. Good luck.

I am been in chishida for 4 years for my child, than the teacher there say its not for everyone. After 4years feel so cheated. Than I found this old tread from here .

When we finally took him out, I did some online searching to try to find out about 'Prof Shichida' - where he got his degree (which isn't in neuroscience, even though he claims to have made his breakthroughs in this area)which uni he is a 'professor'at, and espec. if there is anything on his 'research' that I can read. Apart from on his own sites - and a few new age mag sites, who quote his sites, he isn't mentioned. Certainly not in any solid scientific reference.

I did eventually find a ref. to his 'university' (on a game site which was reviewing a game that used his name). According to Nintendo, he is ‘Professor of Education’ at 'Newport University, Japan', but when I did a search on it, I found it is (or rather, was, they took the single-page website down soon afterwards) a university without a campus, which specialises in correspondence degrees in only five subjects to people who can’t get accepted anywhere else!

In the academic world, these kinds of institutions are known as ‘degree factories’ – which may explain why the parent institution, Newport University in California is on the warning list of Colleges and Universities NOT Accredited by CHEA – the US Council on Higher Education Accreditation (http://www.chea.org). As the CHEA website states: ‘Degrees from these institutions will not be accepted by the Civil Service Commission as satisfying any educational requirements indicated on job specifications.’

Been with Genius League for close to 1 yr now. Sharing my feedback, and happy so far. Teachers are good Even though my son had to change teacher once, the new teacher is also very good. Flashcards are at a good speed, not overly fast and yet not to slow. To me the pace is just nice. So far I can see improvement in my son, his memory seems pretty advanced. Last time it is so hard for him to sit still.. But now he can focus pretty well and sit through the 70 min lesson unless he doesnt get enough sleep or starting to fall sick.. He can catch concepts fast too, like when I teach him something I can see he learns fast. They have a referral system, so you can get further discount if you are referred to by a friend. The referrer and referee will get some discounts. 🙂
