1. Learning Vision (now known as Odyssey) at Arthur Road;
2. Growing up Gifted;
3. school house by the bay; and
4. kinderland academy.

Ive sent my kids to brighton. Well balanced education, with homework and at the same time organized events like plays and outings. Decent local population. Fees are average to above average. Afternoon session itself seems more value, and the coursework is the same.

When he graduated K2, he was well prepared for P1. I am very pleased.


It is a well-balanced school, not just academically but character building and current affairs application on typical issues for a holistic preschool approach.

I get regular updates and photos via the Little Family app and always get prompt reply. The staffs are warm, friendly and passionate. The centre is clean and well maintained. The children always enjoy the yummy food cooked by the in-house chef. There is also a good mix of enrichment and outdoor activities.

Principal v approachable n responds relatively fast. I never got the chance to speak to the principal for my kid for the rest of the ifc i applied for.


Whatsmore, i volunteer in the grassroots and pple In the area recommended it as an ifc before i popped.

As a first time mom im a little skittish abt sending my bb to ifc at 3 mths but I needed to get back to work soon…

Hello! Just wondering if anyone has any feedback/reviews on Whizkid Marine Parade? We went for a quick school tour last week and we felt that the school has a more welcoming vibes than the other centres we visited. But will appreciate if we could hear comments about the school from parents of Whizkid here, if any. We're thinking of sending our 19 months old to their full day playgroup. Help this mama, please! My sons are attending whizkid. Elder one since 18 months and now he is 5yo already. The teachers are still the same. There are new ones mainly because of expansion (it used to be only at level 2).

It is not the kind of school with top technology, impressive decorations, but i feel comfortable putting my child there because the teachers are patient and caring, of course also because of the very convenient location. The principle there has been the same since my son's enrolment, and is very helpful and flexible.

There is just so much to say about this school, i'm not sure what is your top priority. There maybe better ones around like shaws, pat's and oddessy but it comes with a price tag, and too westernized for me. Kinderland is too old for me (my husband's preschool, lol). Those at marine parade building, i do not like the fact that they are in a tall block of buildings with limited outdoor space. There are 1 or 2 good ones there as what i heard from other parents) you may want to check out (which i didn't).

I do see parents sending their child to whizkid from other school nearby (twinkle star) and the comment was the teacher changes too frequent.

School plays a part, parents play a big part in bringing up the child. I dont believe there is a perfect school, only how parents work together with the child at home and teachers in school for the best interest of the child.

So i'm good with now although there is definitely room for improvement for the school.

My kids are in K2 and N2 and both have been with the school since playgroup.Teachers are absolutely fantastic and then the Franchise owner decides to not renew/ re contract (we do not know the details) and all the teachers collectively decide to leave to a new franchise opening soon. In all of this drama not even once did the owner decided to even speak with the parents what is going to happen after teachers leave ! What is the plan, none of us even know if the school will exist after this month or now. Above that the current teachers and lessee are paying out of their pockets for the rent so that the students can finish this term un- interrupted. All of us are running helter skelter looking for a new place for kids. The new place where teachers are going is too small. Plus faith in teachers is a bit shaky right now, they collectively decided to leave. Not cool for any parent.


You definitely do not want to be in this kind of situation. And btw the Still Road branch has tried to pull this stunt second time now. So buyer beware !!!

I was looking for childcare around siglap area. Little Fellow Children does not have many activities as compared to the other childcare at that area. It is a school which focuses on \"Strict discipline\" and \"academic homeworks\" (the traditional way). If you only need a school to just take care of/feed your children without giving them too much of exposure (i.e. outing, school concert, baking, speech class), then it might be the place. I guess that is the reason of the lower monthly rate.

Yes, I sent my son there a few years back (for daycare) and it was great. The owner (John) takes personal interest in the development and care of the children. The atmosphere is quite good, food was healthy and my son enjoyed his time there. I only stopped because my wife and I eventually wanted to have our son go to bigger kindergarten (St. Hilda's) but we've always held Little Fellow Childcare in high regard.

My child has been there for 3 months and she's loving it. I agree that the principal takes personal interest in the child's interest and needs. My child is very anxious kind and took her a while to settle in and he wasn't pushy with her and that was exactly what she needed. She transited into her new class with ease thereafter and I love the homely feel of the school.

Just in case anyone wants to know more about this childcare. 😉 :boogie:

need some advice on a toddler playgroup (18 months). I have visited Pats Katong, Maple bear Katong Point and Shaw at Katong.

Pats : Nice big area, seems to be highly regarded but hearing now some good teachers have left, not sure if its as good as it sounds.
Shaws : Fees are on a higher end, curriculum is theme based, interesting but seems abit random with no learning milestone. Outdoor playground is small and aged. Not sure if its worth the fees?
Maple bear : very good curriculum but somehow execution seems quite bad, no outdoor as well. Reading some MB reviews that kids can come out learning nothing. Seems bizarre as the curriculum seems robust. Cheapest of the lot.

Out of these 3, which one would be most ideal based on your experience?

My son, in K1, this year is suspected to be a special needs child. When his previous playground informed me to transfer him out, I was devastated. After searching around, we found Zee Schoolhouse and brought him in for assessment. They have infant care, play groups, nursery, kindergarten and intervention programmes.

So we enrolled him in the intervention programmes. After 1 year, he could join the normal Nursery classes.
And now he is at Zee Junior, in K1, as Zee Schoolhouse didn’t have K1 classes.

Zee Schoolhouse and Zee Junior are near to each other.
To be honest, I was extremely apprehensive when I first visited the schools as they look run-down and not as spiffy as other schools in the east area. Plus they had a lot of foreign teachers. But I didn’t have a choice so we went ahead.

And it’s the best decision we’ve ever made. The teachers are really caring and even whatsapps frequently to update on the situation. In fact, they were the ones who initiated giving me their numbers as I’m not the kind of patent who hound teachers day and night.

When he misses school, his teacher will call or message to ask if he is going to school.
And I believe its coz they also offer intervention programmes to special needs kids, hence the teachers probably picked up some kids-handling skills from the therapists. And all of them are extremely patient.

I do spot checks occasionally and always find the teachers to be engaging the children. Whereas in his previous school, it seems chaotic at times. Food is really nutritious too, with vegetables and even green bean soup for tea-time. His previous had like nuggets and sausages most of the time!

They also have tie-ups with music, abacus, speech/drama specialist, where you just pay extra and and everything is done in school. Don’t have to ferry the kids all over the island for enrichment classes.

Their progress report is amazing, extremely personal and can see that the teachers spent a lot of effort on it. It’s not just single liners, then they ticked off boxes.

Can consider the schools if you’re living in the area.
