So far can manage by himself. Chinese has been exempted by the shcool (in written),however they will have a presentation on poetry/poem where marks will be given depending on how well they present it. Exam marks are really subjective and it's not fair to compare marks across schools or even levels as each paper is set at different standards.

It is fairer to compare your child's marks with the cohort's average for that certain subject. Usually, this will come come together with the report book (for some schools) and you can decide then if your child is above or below the average. Action plans can then be made to work on to improve weaknesses.

Just to illustrate, my girl managed to score 98 for her maths. One would think she has done very well. Actually, it is average for her class as 6 or 7 others scored full marks and a handful scored 99 and 98.

Anyway, I am more concerned with rewarding effort and I praised her for the effort she had put in attaining the score. Of course, I rewarded her with her favourite apple green milk tea.

csc

Reply to Post Exam "Fever" on Wed, 20 May 2009 17:23:11 GMT

clarabella:

ChiefKiasu:
Try doing his paper yourself in the alloted time and see how much you can score. That's because the material our kids are expected to cover these days are many times harder than what we ourselves went through during OUR time. So it's really difficult to score >90 even in P2.
