I see… so it could be those who didn’t give up and didn’t withdraw their application. So usually the ‘number of applicats for 2C’ would not reflect just the people who actually ballotted.

Historical is the total who applied (50 in your case) over the vacancies.

Usually for those schools that conduct balloting within 1km, school would have asked the other applicants more than 1km to withdraw so it may reflect a realistic of applicants within 1km plus some others who didn't withdraw.

Well, I guess really have to wait till ALL citizens n PR children got a place before foreigners can get in. Local children do not have a choice to go into international schools and primary education is compulsory for them whereas foreign children have a choice of going to international schools or even home school. If the number of citizen/PRs children is more this yr means the vacancies available for foreigner will be lesser.

Basis is availablility of places (after all locals and PRs have been accounted for). If there are more foreign applicants than spaces left, it will depend on your friend's luck at the ballot. Should there be a space in the school later in the year due to withdrawal, etc their child may be able to get in. Best to ask around a few schools and put their child on the wait list. Meanwhile, either a private school, home school or a school back in their homeland is their best option.

Thought your highlighted words were a giveaway (if you understand the G's doublespeak). They can't have foreigners outnumbering SC+PR given that these are public schools. Hence, intake for the school will be shrinker accordingly.

Do you notice that latest listing only list out 60 schools, whereas at end of Phase 2C Supp, 69 schools still had vacancies.
Means 9 schools missing.
Perhaps all vacancies had been snapped up by SC / PR in these 9 schools, before Phase 3 begin.

This is the first time Moe did not disclose the number of vacancies, for Phase 3.
Suppose demand far exceed the Total number of vacancies in these 60 schools -
Wonder how Moe decide to allocate or reject the foreigner child ?

Just a reminder to parents of SC/PR children who were unsuccessful in P2C balloting. Don't wait until Phase 3 begins.

MOE website:
Note: Should any Singapore Citizen/Singapore Permanent Resident child be unsuccessful during Phase 2C Supplementary, the parents can seek MOE’s assistance to facilitate admission for the child to a primary school with remaining vacancies. This will be done before Phase 3 registration begins.

PS. The vacancies that will be set aside for Phase 3 is likely to be a lot less than what is left over after Phase 2C. So definitely please do not blur blur wait until Phase 3 to register. Phase 3 is meant for foreigners.

Yes. Marymount Convent has only been balloting for Phase 2C Supplementary. Phase 2C is very safe, even for PRs.

2014 2C registration is over so if your gal is due for registration next year, do go over to the 2015 thread to post your questions. We're discussing there now.

oh dear,… the school should have notified u one way or another about the timing. On the bright side, one need not be present for the balloting. If successful, the school will notify you or u can check in the latter part of today.
