These are hard too!  :scared: <br /><br />For English spelling, my DS had these words for his first round:<br /><br />Friends<br />Heart<br />Love<br />Cookie<br />Chocolate<br /><br />I taught him to break up the longer words so it's easier to remember. Eg. 'He-art' which he already can spell separately. For your DS' case, it is body parts.<br /><br />I also think its funny that they just anyhow choose difficult words without starting from easier ones. We also speak English at home. Hence, we look for a fulltime CC which teaches Chinese everyday. For my boy, he has a strong interest in Chinese so the ‘tougher’ curriculum in his kinddy is good for him and helping him develop his interest in the language. Although I see some kids might struggle more, like my DD. I had to try and make it interesting for her (like helping her to remember the words through drawings) and help her learn just one character a day when she was in K2!</p>

I think the kinddies should pace themselves appropriately and not stress the kids out unnecessarily. In the first half of P1, the emphasis is on reading, listening and speaking, and not so much on writing yet.
