Newcastle is quite alright.. But it depends which teacher you get..
Some of the class sizes also very huge 15-18 students.. But of course there are other classes with lesser students..

Sometimes finding the right center and the right tutor also need to have some luck..
Newcastle is not alright! I wish someone could have posted something to warn parents of this centre! I enrolled my child in this centre but not good outcome from it. The worksheets given were all messed up with different subjects especially during the online period. All the worksheets can be found in assignment books. No much Science experiment conducted. And a male teacher kept shouting in class all the time. My child was too terrified to even ask questions during lessons. The facilities are run-down and old, it is not a good learning place.

I'm staying at Upp Thomson Rd & have two Pri. 1 girls & one Pri. 5 boy, who are weak in Chinese language due to our English speaking family.

I'm am wondering if there is any stern but good Chinese home tutor to recommend? How much is the charges.

Currently, they are being coach at FangCao but I do not see much improvement, especially the P5 boy & one of my girls. I hope home tuition at familiar place, would improved on their learning.

Any advices welcome.

Decided to choose that tuition centre although there are several tuition centres at that area because the upper primary tutor is really vr experienced and patient. 🙂 She used to teach in a primary school for abt 10 yrs but have since become a full-time tutor. My boy likes her teaching as he said tt she explains the concepts vr well. Their tutorial wkshts are also good as I don't like tuition centres that only photocopy and teach from assessment books. Anw hope my boy improves and scores well in his latest exams soon! 🙂

Last year I found a good way of infusing holistic learning. Since I am not supposed to sell anything here, perhaps I can share something:


Sometimes instead of listening to marketing or people introduction (which can be good), you should personally go down to take a look at how your child (or children) is reacting and receiving information & communication with the tutor (which is the work that the parents have to put in, initially). So take out some time to sit in at the back (i’m sure schools don’t mind), be empathic to see how your child interacts (not how you perceive or what your child tells you, because they could be lying, or they are not wise enough to judge).
