Actually I am quite keen on Henry Park ..but I dunno if where I stay ..wch is Clementi Ave 1..is 2 km ..to Henry park..thts y i was wondering any website to find out or not...

Chixchix, u can call the school directly and give them ur address to check. From what I know, Clementi Ave 1 is definitely out of 1km for HPPS and even if u are 1-2km also no use because under phase2C, u wont even get a chance to ballot at all (based on past years' trends). And yah, u are too late for PV registration for ur 2003 kid.

Actually I find this whole system very stupid…it means even if you are living within 2km of the school also …u got no chance …but to wait till Phase 2C… I think the MOE shd look into this… I feel like writing in to the ST Forum… on the other hand… there are hardly good school in Clementi/West Coast area…very bad…Last time Nan Hua used to be just bhind my block…the old one… now they shifted it all the way near Clementi mRT…really bad… leaving me no chance…

I can always put my boy for West Grove… but my new Enbloc flat will be done up in 2011…tht means my boy will be P2…I cant possibly…change him into another school when I shift back to Clementi also…

ok another thing…for my boy who is born in 2005…when must I start signing up for the PV thing??

Chixchix, dont say 2km, even if the school is <1km and right in front of ur house, u may still need to ballot if it is a popular school… else why do u think parents like me rather spend 40hrs and sign up as PV?

For 2005 kid, u should write in by mid/end 2009.

            Dear Chixchix,

I can see your frustation since i went thro’ it.

It depends on the school you choose. If it is Henry park, you should go and enroll before next Nov (2009) according to the info I got in last Feb. In other words, the window period will be starting from this Dec (2008) to next Oct or Nov (2009).

Again, if the number of people applying for PV is higher, they may narrow down the window period. So, to be on the safer side, you call the school in Dec and enquire the details.

            Hope this helps.

Actually HPPS is rather stringent with PVs selection but no harm trying. I experienced it personally! 😎

What do you mean? Stringent? It is a new story for me. We need to meet certain criteria to ba a parent volunteer, is it? Oh, my god.

I am more interested to know if I enrol my child in one primary school (say Clementi primary, in my case) and two years later, I shift my house near Henry park (1 km), will I be able to get transfer or so to henry park? Or this 1 km business ends at primary one level?

provided that if the school accepts such transfer, will it be difficult for the kid to cope academically?

Yes. You are right. It might end up in trauma for a child.

Hi Harishita, yah the schools dont just accept anyone who wants to be pvs leh, need screening, interviews etc. HPPS rejected my PV application, reason cited: 'overwhelming response'. 😛
