We started to learn about PV and Grassroots leader for our possible chance in the future Phase 2B. We are within the 1km distance to both Yu Neng and Red Swastika Primary school. However, we are not sure which CC we should apply for the Grassroots leader volunteer in order to be qualified for Red Swastika Phase 2B in the future:
1. Our place belongs to Aljunied GRC but Punggol CC, while Red Swastika is East Coast GRC and Fengshan CC. Can we still do the grassroots social volunteer under Fengshan CC to be qualified for Red Swastika Phase 2B? Or should we check with Punggol CC? We are not sure if Red Swastika requires the volunteering from a specific CC
2. Any church/clan that is affliated to Red Swastika?

Thank you for your help!
CY

One parent leased only address thro an old lady, but what old lady didn’t realised is if there is no legitimate tenancy, both parties committed cheating sch which later surfaced as her daughter was gonna use mother’s address for P1 registration. Both sets of parents were investigated & unfortunately, the owner’s daughter was able to state her FTW status & the other family was charged.

2. In of my child’s year of registration, we were anxious as there was one more application exceeding the vacancies available & we were anxiously waiting for call to enter into ballot. The call never came. It was a few months into new P1 sch term when I was a PSG & had a chance chatting with P, who then explained one couple called up for investigation as someone they know reported a borrowed address had been used & the family residing >2km fr sch. P said MOE told couple to withdrawal application. Not sure if they were charged or let off.

It’s not abt cheaper option, but any parents ought to be careful not to knowingly cheat or find illegitimate options. MOE allows family to reside at address used for P1 registration within a limit of 30 mths. If u hv the means to own a property to give u that within 1km priority during P1 registration, or 2nd option of either enter into legitimate tenancy to stay within 1km or if parents stay within proximity of school & you are able to put yr child in the legitimate care of yr parents whilst u work, then those are yr ‘cheaper’ & legitimate options. If u’re SAHP, it’ll be hard to justify unless you’re able to show legitimate need for yr role to care for yr non-ambulant elderly or along that line (just an example).

To show legitimate residences, you’ll need to change address at police post within 30 days of new residency. I recall a lady was caught unaware when she sold her flat after her divorce & moved in to stay with her sister. Many are indeed ignorant thinking going back to stay with parents does not require official change of address on i/c. There are also those who married & stay with in-laws, but hv not change their address fr their maiden family. Some erroneously assume they hv an adv of a couple splitting addresses for P1 registration to their advantage. Do rmbr, when I couple register a child for P1, they’ve to show same address, unless officially in divorce process.

Whatever it is, it is certainly not worth to go the illegitimate way & cause yourself embarrassment or grief, which might affect your child eventually.

To give the best education to your child, is to be the right/good role model to them.

Hope I’ve not punched sensitive buttons here. Just sharing perspective.

Estéema
