Does anyone use a water filter or water purification system at home. I was told that if your house is more than 15 years old, is better to install one for the safety of the children as the water coming from the rusty pipe is dirty. Can share which brand you use and how effective it is. Tks

This can be achieved with water filters with reverse osmosis system plus UV light disinfection.Activated charcoal also helps to remove any heavy metals but I think PUB has done a good enough job?Get a TDS and ph meter to test your filtered water.(can buy from carousell)

In case you didnt know, RO water is not really good either.It leaches minerals from our bloodstream due to the difference in water potential of the water and blood.

Have tried various types of filtered water devices, to-date I find the Berkey system most effective, both cost wise (purchase price & maintenance cost) and easy usage. Other than it having to occupy a space on the counter top, I find it serves its purpose very well. The key is if the filters really do their job or just ‘merely a piece of cloth over the tap to sieve minute particles’
I am unsure on the health benefits of alkaline water too.

My neighbour just installed an AoX which has booths all over Singapore. Not cheap — almost $3k. And recently there’s this equally pricey brand called Hydroflux. I contacted them and asked them what’s the difference between their product versus AoX. They claim they can filter smaller substances than AoX. Anyone has tried either brand before ?

My ID assured me the table top is strong enough to withstand. He also had a water purifier installed.

In the end the guy drilled through the cupboard at the side. The water tastes a bit salty though. Trying to get used to it. Upload the pic when I go over tomorrow. It takes up very little space.

The novita guy came to install the water purifier yesterday. It’s more convenient than the amway e spring as it’s separate from the tap. In the long run, it’s also cheaper than amway as novita filters can last 2 years based on our consumption. Checked the price at robinsons...it’s selling at $699 for the same model.

Janet, can you share your benefits and experiences on Alkaline water, my colleague told me her dh got bad skin eczema, after drinking n using alkaline water, skin conditions are better .

From the haze thread, Janet seems to always fall sick.. hehe..

our filter does not have alkaline water.

for us, just filtered water will do.

whenever there is haze, i will be sneezing and migraine is next to come.

Boiled water should be the safest for drinking. Filtered water would be dependent on the filters.

Boiling kills bacteria. But filtering also removes solid particles and some chemicals. You have to choose a company that you feel you can trust, I guess. Same as for many other products.
