Before the interview, I told her to relax and just be herself as I believe they just wanted to find out a little more about her, probably a formal 'chit-chat'. These are far more important than just pure academic achievement as they will go far in their future if they can manage their life well.
[/quote]Thanks, Fluffy, for the sharing. These are my sentiments exactly.

I remember quite a number of my son's classmates did not get their choice school via DSA. In the end, they still get there via their PSLE results. In fact, a few were rejected by NJC, ACS(I), NUSH, RV but their final PSLE results landed them in RGS, RI and HCI instead.

Take the DSA exercise as an exposure or learning experience for the child. I hope the child's esteem is not just based on academic achievement alone. That will be real sad, indeed.

Celebrate effort instead. :celebrate:

That's what we did. Immediately after the PSLE oral, my hubby and I dated our daughter for a sushi meal and during the meal, nothing about the oral topics was discussed.

csc

Reply to DSA - RI / HCI confirmed on Wed, 26 Aug 2009 01:08:42 GMT

Merlion:
Your friend's son is weak in both languages. 85% for GEP maths can be considered good, 78% for GEP science can be considered average. If you can not even maintain the GEP status, it will be hard for RI or HCI to accept you as they might not even see you as GEP student.

Thank for your advices.

I have shared all of yours comment to my friend. Interestingly, my friend told me his said his son classmate most of them are weak in Languages, at least 15 of them require remedy classes, most of them score below 70%. Wow, I shocked too!

I realised this yr P5 mainstream is also quite weak in Languages, especially the Chi, many of them HATE Chi, reluntant to learn.

My friend boy is from a SAP school

Everyone would like to comment and share this point.

I told my friend relax take it easy, study is not the only matter in life.

Thank U!

john.09525316
