We are keen to register our girl for kellock but am not very sure how is the culture like. I am not from a girl's school myself ans so another concern is how the environment of a single gender school will be.

Appreciate is parents of girls studyinf in this school and advise what you like or not like about the school as well as the feedback on the teachers whom i feel it more important than the school itself. Thanks in advance! 🙏

For this year's PSLE results, I recall the Principal shared - 100% passes to Secondary school and 68-ish% to Express. But in all honesty, besides the results, my girl really enjoyed her 6 years at Kellock! 🙂 Teachers wise, students, culture etc. I have made some pretty good mummy friends too from Kellock. Chij kellock usually has no balloting for phase 2c. There isn’t a need to volunteer 🙂

Usually the parents from a class would create a WhatsApp group, and 1-2 parents would have contact with the teacher and the teacher would send messages via them.[/quote]Alternatively, you're free to email the respective teachers if you have any questions. Parents will be given a list of email address for each teacher in the class/subject/level, and you will receive a reply within 4-6hrs during school days. I usually don't send any emails over the weekend out of respect for the educator's personal time.

There’s a student care in the school. It is by YMCA. Fee is about $230/month.

If you can get in, and that's a big if because the facility is really small and demand is high. Applications are taken during the first orientation, and you'll only get an SMS to notify you if you're successful or not, so I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket.

They do not publish selection criteria, and will not entertain any questions pertaining to vacancies available - been there, done that. I can only presume that priority is given to those with siblings already in the SCC, and maybe single parents perhaps? Other than that...your guess is as good as mine. 😂

I have already secured a place in another school which is too far away, applied there as the admin told us still got place. The admin at Kellock wasn’t willing to tell us if there were still spots at phase 2C. So we applied to the other school.
Now I see kellock still has a few spots, wondering about my chances here.
This year, chances for PR at Kellock is only at P2C, zero chance at P2CS. Only 5 vacancies at P2CS now, and likely SC within 1km would snap them up. (like a repeat in 2013)

For me, I did a rough comparison for the schools around me, basing on:
- PSLE T-score (Source is not official)
- Popularity ranking (follow the crowd)
- CCA offered, achievements & MOE awards

Then I come out with my own scoring system to rank these schools. It may not the best way, but at least its a guideline for me. GESPS didn't come up tops.
plus CHIJ is affiliated to st.Teresa's convent

Sorry to hear that you missed the chance in 2C, but it's still quite risky even if you apply at 2C. Now only 5 slots in 2CS, chances are more to zero. Many SC parents eyeing for the remaining. You might want to consider Marymount Convent, but hard to predict the applications from PR, 2CS quota 37.

Im not from here, but encounter different schools before. No one would force you to convert anything. If mass, it’s just a period of lesson per week usually and all pupils just sit in and listen to what the teachers/members telling stories and singing along, nothing bad. No worries about this.
