I’m new to this forum and considering registering my girl for South View Primary for 2020 intake. I note from the school website that the registration for PV has closed, just wondering would the school still accepts if I submit?

SV school website states that they do not accept late submissions. You'd probably get more definitive answers by going to the school and speak to someone there to get a better idea of your options are at this stage.

I was from South View Primary School, Cohort of 2014. I would say that the biggest three digits of the classes are usually the \"best\" class, but the teachers do provide help to the rest of the cohort. Personally, I jumped from 3.2 (which is probably quite \"bad\", to 4.6 and then to 6.8. So, I think that the teachers do put in an equal amount of hardwork, regardless of the class.

Hi, I'm not in this school but from what I know from mine, the children are in the class that best meet their learning needs. Children who learn faster than their peers are given more opportunities to learn more and difficult content knowledge.
This concept is basically similar to learning Higher Chinese and Standard Chinese, Additional Maths and Maths, Pure Science and Combined Science.

Therefore, it is not too surprising that most of the top scorers are from the top classes. But this also implies that as long as the children are hardworking, they can still make it into the top cohort even if in the second or third class.

Based on experience, children who are in the top classes in primary 3 will usually be in the top classes in primary 5, unless the children are performing below expectations.
On another hand, some children who aren't that good in primary 3 suddenly mature and will move up the ladder and into a better class.
Of course, when the children are in the upper primary, the school will focus on either stretching them for an A or building their foundation to ensure a pass.

Top 3 classes will be 4.5 to 4.7.. 4.7 being the best class.

When child transfer into a new school, she/he will be placed in an avg class, and with banding, the child can move into an appropriate class in P4. 😄
