The commitment from teachers my boy has had is exceptional, and given a choice to choose again, it’s Rulang for sure. <br /><br />We moved to Yishun two years back and continued to travel to the school. We managed to transfer my girl to a nearby popular school in her P3 year. After a year of having two kids in two different schools, I can only say the difference is clear, from the amount of commitment from teachers, planning of holistic development programmes, discipline, character and resilience building etc. Despite the distance, we are now back to Rulang in P4 and will be looking to move back so that my youngest can also be in Rulang. <br /><br />I can never be thankful enough for the positive parent-teacher collaboration through my kid’s growth over the years.</blockquote></blockquote>We are near Yishun as well and was considering to waitlist at the nearby schools.<br />After coming across your post, I will reconsider our plan especially when my child is happy with Rulang.<br />Greatly appreciate your review and it comes timely for us. She was a totally different person with parents. She said no choice but to put up a fierce front otherwise all these little kids will climb over her head and she wont be able to control the class.<br />While we knew \"finger on your lips\" to stop the kids from talking, in Rulang, we \"learnt\" both index finger on your lips <img src="https://forum.kiasuparents.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f642.png?v=f4f27f6278e" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--slightly_smiling_face" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=":)" alt="🙂" /><br />Those were the days...<br />This teacher was Ms Chia Kuai Sim<br /><br />Dd used to bring raisin bun to sch for recess. However she ate the raisin and would picked them out for her best friend to eat. You can imagine a bun filled with holes/gaps. Once these two girls met the P. The school is one of the hardest schools to get in during P1 registration and it's good to understand why.  So your DD don't mind being moved about in different primary schools? Remember, at odds of getting a place of 92 applicants versus 20 places, I think those are very poor odds.  You may think now it has increased to 40 places.  Don't forget, the extra 20 places comes from Phase 2A and 2B. The oversubscription last year was slightly lower, but it did require balloting within 1km.  In 2020, the oversubscription was higher, but balloting was for those within 1-2km.<br /><br />So your chance for Rulang depends on the number of parents competing within 1km.  I don't think Rulang can escape balloting this year, and I think it will likely be for those living within 1km.  Why don't you just try for the school?
