Donā€™t know anything about the new principalā€¦the culture of the school depends a lot on the principal. If the principal is warm and caring, the culture will flow down.
Single gender schools have pros and cons.
Bullying takes place everywhere. It really depends whether the can girl know how to handle.

I think what @floppy is saying is that everyone knows that CHIJ Primary is very popular... Since the time we started recording P1 registration in 2006, it has ALWAYS ended its run by Phase 2C and it has never had a Phase 2C(S).

What you have posed are very specific questions, and they are relevant. However, they will probably elicit different answers from different parents. What I can say is that we have not detected anyone withdrawing from CHIJ Primary at any stage in this year's registration so far, and that itself speaks volumes. Even good schools like Red Swastika has 2 persons withdrawing at Phase 2C, even after they have gotten the places earlier.

KCS has been fluctuating up and down in recent years. For example, last year, it was ballot for SC < 1km despite having 94 places in Phase 2C :yikes:

For KCS, you need to be aware that those who are < 1km from PCPS are also likely to be < 1km from KCS. Hence, if you want to join in the fun, do take note that you may be faced with the unenviable option of balloting again in Phase 2CS.

I'm pretty surprised that the applicant for phase 2c is so strong. Percentage success is 66%, which is lowest in the past 12 years for this phase.

I'm staying within 1km from school. First time applicant. Any advice or thoughts if I should pivot to another school?

If you are SC < 2km, you are a shoo-in for MCS in Phase 2CS.
Applicants who are < 1km from CHIJ TP are also very likely to be < 2km from MCS.
As such, there is very little risks and opportunity cost if you miss out on the ballot in CHIJ TP. You can pivot to MCS in Phase 2CS.
