I am so glad when I found this sports forum within the same website. Perhaps we should also focus on developing a kid’s fighting spirit…no I am not talking about mind shaping training etc just sports that encourage this development in a more natural way.<br /><br /><br />ok, I am interested to know what are the good TKD schools/centres in Singapore. I hope any parents who have good experience can share. My kids (11/12) are at Brown-Black level but cant improve further much. I will attribute it to the (too) casual training that they are receiving now.<br /><br />I have heard of ACME, Eunos etc and simply too many clubs to check out. Hence, want to hear directly from parents instead.</p>

Some schools charge based on students competency, while others charge by the grades for obvious reasons.<br /><br />I went for STF black belt grading recently, after holding black tip and stopped for 20 years. Both converted to senior black with STF. My younger continue to pursue her senior 3rd dan with STA and elder one had stopped. My intent is for both to be able to develop mental and self defense skills. I got to know the younger one intend to take up TKD as CCA in JC. I already hands off both, as I felt they are more or less there.</p>

Thank you.</p></blockquote></blockquote>The coach will advise when you enroll for classes, typically its uniform.<br />Some CC classes will require shoes, depends on the ground they practice on.<br />Guards are only if they are contact sparring which should not start until maybe couple belts later.<br />Uniform from $60- 100 plus depending on brand, some places ( not CC) offer free uniform when registering for classes for x number of classes<p></p></blockquote>Add on to Sob7<br />Guards are required when your kid/s are green belt onward. Without guards, your kid will not be able to join the sparring class.<br /><br />Most of the coaches would prefer you to buy TKD equipment from them, as it is one of their incomes. <br /><br />Other than the TKD uniform and Belt, you might need to pay for their TKD badge and sew on the name for the uniform.<br /><br />As for Guards, you will need Groin Guard, Shin Guard, a Forearm Protector, and a Body Gear. Some clubs will need you to buy Head Gear, Clove Protector and In Step Guard, Equipement bag, and Target.<br /><br />If you practice TKD on rough ground, they will recommend you to buy TKD shoes. If not, it is not necessary.
