Hi,
Does anyone know whether LittleHouse Montesorri at 534 Sembawng Road is good?

My child is 20months old. Any good half day childcare (with good programmes) at Sembawang Area? My mother-in-law does not drive, so I'll need to get school bus as well.

Is Montessori programme good? If not, any recommendation?

Recently I chanced upon the enrichment classroom and Edelweiss. I’m torn between two. The enrichment classroom is walking distance and nearer to our house but Edelweiss is further and need to take bus or school bus. Anyone can share with me your experiences or reviews.

We’d been very happy at Froebel due to the lovely garden and dedicated teachers but we had no choice but to move our kids due to the school’s sudden closure. Naturally, we were very anxious but Ms Esther from Canberra Preschool held a special open day for our kids and within minutes of us arriving, we could see the kids all loved, loved, loved the new school. Overall, the curriculum seemed robust and the school used modern and traditional tools to teach eg interactive digital boards as well as costume play and a reading corner.

My child loved the enrichment classes (which are included in the fees); the robotics and gym really got him excited. He also liked the dancing, singing and water play very much.

The only thing I missed was the garden at Froebel. Personally, I like kids mucking about dirt and getting their hands into soil. Having said that, I don’t know if my child missed the outdoor play as Canberra Preschool has a sun-filled super duper indoor gym and playground with all sorts of kids cars and even a mini rock climbing wall.

All in all, my child and I were really pleased he spent his last few months of childcare/kindy at Canberra Preschool. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who believes in a creative and happy environment for learning. The only thing I would add is if you are sending your child here, please ensure your child has Vit D supplements or kiddy multivits to make up for natural sunlight.

It happened to me when I was there to register my son after 1.5yrs waiting for the vacancy. It was a weekday morning where most of the children were there. We were only allowed to visit the school on Saturday and the school’s impression to us was good when we’re briefed by the Chinese teacher and seeing our son playing so well with the Pilipino teacher.

However, it’s not the case in reality. Although I wasn’t allowed to go inside the classroom, I manage to peep and overhear what’s happening while waiting for the admin staff to check my documents and print me the receipt. At one room, the teacher was yelling at the crying toddler, while at the other room, the teacher was pulling the child from sitting on her chair and scolding him in front of the class (sound rude and insulting to me). The whole centre is chaos, full of unpleasant noise and the children look unhappy.

I just can’t believe what is happening in front of me. Therefore, after some thinking and discussion with my partner, we’d decided to withdraw from the preschool few hours later after I’ve left. Then, I get to meet the principal. I would expect the principal asking me more about her teachers when I told her that I’m not comfortable with their teaching method. But, she has disappointing me, her only concern is whether or not to refund full amount of money that I’ve paid to their school. She looks arrogant and never smiles to me at all when I tried to be nice to her and smiled to her. How can such preschool be so popular? I have no idea, but it’s definitely not for my cheeky boy.

The environment is great: clean because it's brand new with spacious dining/kitchen area and interesting ship-like play area. The teacher : student ratio is way above govt requirement but maybe because now they are still new.

However, I am quite concerned about his immunity as he is eczema baby (not too serious now) and he is still allergic to egg white or bean now (15mths).


We are thinking to let our son turns to 2 yo and his immunity is better only go to preschool but it will be June next year. I understand that usually vacancy comes early of the year after graduation of the kids… So, I am still deciding Jan or June enrollment? Hope to get some advice from you guys… Tqvm~

They mention their term and condition changed and it is only 2month plus back i have signed the contract. Because they just do not want to return the deposit, i have consulted 2 lawyers to bring this up to court - sound abit stupid but they REFUSED to replied any of my sms despite me showing them the contract again and again with his signature.

I have also brought this issue up to ECDA and MP. Hopefully we could warn more parents in yishun areas. This cc is one and only in singapore hence it seem like they are new in running business.
