Not all Myanmarese gives us their bad side of attitude. If u look for those fr CHIN State, they typically rec’d better education & u’stands spoken English but hv difficulties interacting as this is not commonly spoken in their hometown. Try not to get helpers fr Irrawardy, Shan or other obscure townships. Those from CHIN State closer to India are typically exposed to English & hv darker skin, whilst those near the borders of China will speak Mandarin but no English.

In early 2000s, we don’t get good Mynmar girls, but these days, they’re better exposed. I had one who didn’t u’stand spoken English but can read them but was underaged despite documents stating o’wise. These are mainly instigated by greedy agents. My subsequent ones are fast learners & hv very mild temperaments, love my kids & l sent them for haircutting, sewing & other courses.

Hi everyone. I would like to know more about how to deal with myanmar helper. She is 27yrs old and hired her to look after my mil. She eats alot everyday, packet drinks, yakult, fruits, eggs, instant noodles, chocolates finish within 2 days. She even stole the beer to drink during CNY. Best you send her back to agent or back to her homecountry. You can train skills but u really cannot train attitude & this one sounds very hardcore.

You’ll need to get her :-

1. Passport (copies/pics of front page)
2. Education Cert (to reflect at least up to 8 years of education (pls sight cert & be aware they can doctor it as some Mynmar agents are unscrupulous charging them to cheat Spore). Tell them they hv to bring originals to SG
3. Ensure they are at least 23 years old (again their age can be doctored just like those Indonesian maids)

4. Get ready yr SingPass
5. Go to MOM website under Foreign Domestic Worker, start completing form
6. If u apply morning by afternn u’ll get Approval In-Principle (provided both parties do not hv bad records). If u’re apply to replace a furrentbheller, go to “Replacement” and not apply new maid owise u’ll never get approval

7. Once AIP received, u can purchase NTUC Income’s FDW Insurance (safer to chose with runaway package). Best to call rather than online coz u can ask them email softcopy urgently, owise may wait for weeks by post.

8. Call the girl to mobilize on certain date. I usually check JetStar for budget tickets & choose flights timing to my family's convenience & cost. Purchase & selectvif u wanna buy her baggage. I normally don’t encourage the girls to bring too much coz one girl brot all her mountain village winter wear

9. Then send her all doc - AIP/WP, Airtic as well as front page of Insurance (she needs this doc that’s why I highlighted get softcopy fast so u can use softcopy yo send her). W/o Insurance, even if I buy airtic, she arrives & will be turned back on next flight

10. Send her to SATA for medical. You can use runner to bring her if I’ve no time. If go early morning, complete within an hour. Wait for medical repot following week

11. With medical repot, bring her to MOM @ Bedeemer (you can use runner cost btwn $40-60) for thumbprint. Whole process complete. MOM will deliver her WP to yr home.

No agency cost at all. Hope abv helps.
