I turned to my agent and said: 'He won't do a single one of those.'\"

Presumably John was not bragging about his keen foresight. (And he obviously didn't intend to pile on Miley right when her breakup news was making the rounds—such is timing.)

\"I could tell you he was going to die,\" the \"Rocket Man\" singer reportedly went on about Jackson. \"He'd been doing drugs for so long, he'd been a mess for so long—and I've known Michael since he was 12 or 13—that it was never going to happen. Everyone was saying it was going to be great and I was saying, 'Hello? Are you looking at the real thing here?'\"

Meanwhile, John also had something to say about a particularly close friend of the family, Lady Gaga.

\"With Gaga—who I love, she's the godmother to our children—I'd like to be able to talk to her right now, but I can't get through to her,\" he said, though he didn't clarify whether he meant literally or figuratively.

\"And there are times when you have to listen,\" John said. \"When your persona begins to take over your music and becomes more important, you enter a dangerous place. Once you have people around you who don't question you, you're in a dangerous place.\"

Figuratively, not literally.

\"When you get famous you get complacent,\" he added. \"You stop listening to new things. But my album's sound reflects the fact that all the things I love at the moment are stripped down. Lorde had a big U.S. hit with a song called 'Royal.' It's just her voice and a drum machine, and it's beautiful in its simplicity. It's the kind of direction Gaga should be going in.\"

Valuable advice, perhaps. One show could just be a make or break.

A whole entourage is behind a showbiz persona… ranging from the manage/s, etc etc to the 24hr standby attorneys … every part of her persona that you see here, has been thoroughly researched, meticulous worked on, including the negative public comments that could be generated and what and who the industrial insiders comments have been thoroughly thought on… it’s a elaborate long running, expansive marketing campaign; and she, her showbiz persona, is the "product".

Nowadays, every where is the stage… When a celebrity goes shopping in Beverly Hills, just don’t assume he/she could go/is going shopping like you; they have already "lost that right to it"; most of them are strutting down the street in the ever watchful eyes of the public and the paparazzi, whom immensely having a hang of watching these "live drama"… so a rising star’s managers can work around to capitalize or work in collaboration… the next time you read that she "misbehaves" while shopping in Rodeo Drive, don’t feel bad for her, it could well be a publicity stunt, everything is timed, staged and even the paparazzi could be bought to stage a "live coverage caught behind the scene" photos to be sold and published on the (paid for) top gossip magazine with a bold accusation worded headline.

In the cut throat show biz industry, the worst is having no one talk about you.

Well, of course she can go on to lead a layman life after Hannah Montana, be a admin staff or something, but it’s a different story when one has the choice to do something bigger… there is no right or wrong here, it’s just a personal choice, IMO.

I would take this opportunity as a case study to educate my children on the topic of marketing… the pros and cons… and wishfully hoping they grow up to be able to see the behind-the-scenes of everything.

I am even fine with her nudity as it was done in such a way where it shows mainly her back and sides, not full frontal. But what is with her and the sticking the tongue out thing. And I totally don't get the licking of the sledge hammer.

DD saw the video and basically told me don't watch the video, just listen to the song. Watching the video spoils the whole song.

Agree.. Her nudity is not 'offensive', but the licking is.. Spoil the whole MV.. :slapshead:

Actually, most of these new songs are nice.. Don't know why the MVs must always contain sexual scenes.. To boost viewership ?

DS1 likes to sing, and he sings ALOUD at home (that's why I know most of these songs).. The songs sound quite nice, actually..

Recently, DS2 also starts chanting \"Applause.. Applause.. Applause..\" non-stop.. :faint:

iFirefly

Reply to Miley Cyrus - child actor gone bad on Mon, 16 Sep 2013 09:58:41 GMT

Funz:

ngl2010:
My son and I watched 'We can't stop' MV. The way Billy Ray Cyrus sings look like he is a conservative type.

I think Lady Gaga has nicer body than Miley Cyrus during VMA performance.

ngl2010

Reply to Miley Cyrus - child actor gone bad on Mon, 16 Sep 2013 09:55:30 GMT

firefly38:
What do you think of Katy Perry's 'Roar' and Lady Gaga's 'Applause' ?

DS1 likes to watch these MVs on you-tube (and sometimes laughing to himself while watching :faint: ).. I am hoping he can listen to more Chinese songs, like he used to when he was in primary school..

I like the 'Roar' MTV.

As for Lady Gaga's 'Applause', I find it a bit creepy. Maybe because I don't like clowns or dolls or anything with painted faces.

Funz

Reply to Miley Cyrus - child actor gone bad on Mon, 16 Sep 2013 09:50:43 GMT

ngl2010:
My son and I watched 'We can't stop' MV.
