The church pocket is not deep enough, could not have afford the creme of the crop publicist for her... and she wasn't signed under any deep pocket mega record label , or rather none is interested to spend a big budget on her...to make a faux diamond from sands, it takes months of 2500 degree of heat and pressure... some artists are just like unpolished gems that only require a easier job of fine polishing, some other are just sands that trying to be a gem.

So, not continuing to market Miley to another market segment (15-25yo) would be such a waste, she is already rolling out so well in showbiz, now that she has out grown Hannah Montana stage, our young children are no longer her target audience, she needs a different persona with viable marketing strategy if she wants a sustainable showbiz career.

Just like Justin Bieber, he doesn't just gone wild over night like most thought, it was the Gangnam style that washed him off YouTube top chart that his team is on their feet again to do something different, a persona make-over to cater to another market segment, or at least woo over a different group in the same age band.

The only thing unchanged is changes.

Emma Watson is one teen actor that we called it somewhat-a-success, a favorable image make over (or rather not much of a make over) for her transitional showbiz persona... Due to the limitation of her physical appearance, any image make-over to something else than what she is now, is futile.

Her showbiz persona, too, is just another successful marketing product.... like all other young actors before her; all lines/speeches, postures, attires, where to go to be seen (restaurants, malls, clubs, sporting), what books she reads etc etc, are rehearsed/planned/made... to upkeep that squeaky clean image that her showbiz persona wants us to believe.

And I put in the record to say this, she will marry in 5 years time and divorce in next 3 years, and another showbiz persona make-over will take place.... (like Scarlet Johansen) this time is for the mega production houses...

Of course, she may just quits showbiz... only so then we won't be interested in her... as long as she wants to live in the public's eyes, is her persona that we are seeing, a marketable one.

Not sure she has already turned a "bad gal"; but what I understand is, in show biz the artist’s persona being presented ain’t exactly the actual personality, most of them not even come to any slightest closeness, be it on or off stage; much is done for publicity.

In a stage performance like this, the goal is simple-- entertaining the audiences, watching the showbiz industry’s score card and the rating, and the artist’s popularity boost, these all are the considered factors. One show could just be a make or break.

A whole entourage is behind a showbiz persona… ranging from the manage/s, etc etc to the 24hr standby attorneys … every part of her persona that you see here, has been thoroughly researched, meticulous worked on, including the negative public comments that could be generated and what and who the industrial insiders comments have been thoroughly thought on… it’s a elaborate long running, expansive marketing campaign; and she, her showbiz persona, is the "product".

Nowadays, every where is the stage… When a celebrity goes shopping in Beverly Hills, just don’t assume he/she could go/is going shopping like you; they have already "lost that right to it"; most of them are strutting down the street in the ever watchful eyes of the public and the paparazzi, whom immensely having a hang of watching these "live drama"… so a rising star’s managers can work around to capitalize or work in collaboration… the next time you read that she "misbehaves" while shopping in Rodeo Drive, don’t feel bad for her, it could well be a publicity stunt, everything is timed, staged and even the paparazzi could be bought to stage a "live coverage caught behind the scene" photos to be sold and published on the (paid for) top gossip magazine with a bold accusation worded headline.

In the cut throat show biz industry, the worst is having no one talk about you.

Well, of course she can go on to lead a layman life after Hannah Montana, be a admin staff or something, but it’s a different story when one has the choice to do something bigger… there is no right or wrong here, it’s just a personal choice, IMO.

I would take this opportunity as a case study to educate my children on the topic of marketing… the pros and cons… and wishfully hoping they grow up to be able to see the behind-the-scenes of everything.

I think Katy Perry's 'Roar' MV is PG. Lady Gaga's 'Applause' MV is still more tastefully done than Miley Cyrus's recent MV. Actually I like Lady Gaga's bras in that MV :oops:

Don't think the mum cares as long as it makes money. The more daring it is the deeper the impression, the more gossip there will be and as a result more followings. Like Madonna or Lady Gaga and many others, it pays to be daring. But must be shockingly daring, if not just marginally daring will end up like Chinese wine and not enough followings and converts. :yikes:

The things we parents have to do in order to keep track of what our kids are being exposed to. Lately I find myself reading books meant for tweens and teens, watching MTVs, listening to the latest hit songs, watching youtube uploads. All these to make sure what they are watching and reading and listening to are acceptable. I am even watching videos from Smosh.com because kids are following their uploads.
