Had a dishwasher for years, but other than slotting in clean dishes, we nvr use it. I don’t feel it’ll be as clean as my hand-wash during days when I don’t hv helper. DH was my greatest ‘helper’ coz my fingers gets peeling skin when in contact with too much water.

We have a built in washer that comes with the unit but never used before. I been using it to store noodles. The washer is quite big. I always find no need use such big machine for just few things. Wash as we use.

We had the steriliser too. But we had 24 bottles washed in dishwasher and only sterilise bottles again when we use for the day. Really kiasu. But we had no helper and no family, both working full time. So dishwasher is our helper and other home tools.

When I was in the UK, I just bought a bottle steriliser which could hold 6 bottles at a time! But I stopped using it as soon as could - the advice was for 6 mths or 1 yr (I now forget). Certainly by 1 yr as my kids would be eating the same food as us, at home and outside, by then. I think it's good for kids to get introduced to \"everyday\" germs asap.

Do you scrape off all food, and rinse/soak the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher? If there is dried food on the dishes, the dishwasher is unlikely to be able to remove them. Especially if the dishwasher is not run immediately after the meal. My mother used to have a dishwasher, and the amount of prep needed before the dishes could be loaded seemed to be almost as much as just washing them by hand. I wash by hand.

The main usefulness of a dishwasher is when there are guests, and the dishwasher is filled and run immediately. For most small families, it seems easier to wash by hand. It's also discipline to use the fewest no. of dishes! And saves water and electricity too.

The dishwashers I used in Western countries previously (more than 10 years ago) - I could not stand the noise and gurgles and rumbles in an open plan living / dining / kitchen setting. It is more prolonged and noisier than a washing machine to me (which I can only hear during spin cycles).

Haha..I m sorry if I can't provide much info..I think shouldn't impact durability of machine...I just buy those fm Q0010 whenever there is offer. KA is expensive so no.

I used to put 2 capsules for full load then came a period capsules running low so I put 1 capsule only and I feel that's ok leh..now most of the time I put 1 cap only. Put it at the bottom before the clothes so that can be properly dissolved when water start to flow in.

I won't go back to detergent unless necessary. Capsule is convenient and it looks cute.

I use the compartment. Pouring detergent directly onto clothes may harm the delicates and some colours.

Do you pour your laundry detergent in that specific compartment? I dont as I simply pour into the laundry.
