It started with Kawashima’s Brain Age brain training software, and then there was an avalaunch of titles targeted at children as low as 3 years old.

I would think that instead of investing in specialized platforms like the V-Tech or Leappad toys, it might be worthwhile to invest in a relatively low cost Nintendo DS (< S$250) and take advantage of the growing list of titles.

We have set a target of scoring band 1 for all subjects as the criteria. He did not meet the criteria during P1 SA2. But he managed to score all band 1 for P2 SA1. So we now need to get him the game set as promised.

Now my headache is how to manage my younger boy (4 years old) when he see the elder brother has a new game set. The younger one will most probably start complain about "not fair" as he dont have one.

So you handle it just like how you control his addiction to other things. The way I do it is limit him to no more than half an hour per session, and he has to earn that half an hour by having good behavior or spending time studying, etc.

wet

Reply to Nintendo DS on Sat, 22 Dec 2007 03:26:54 GMT

Hey, I am considering getting a DS, but I am just afraid that my kid will get addicted to it and stop doing his homework.
