Hi, Thks for yr reply, nebbermind. However, I’m asking not becos my kid is taking the test but just curious as a mummy told us that she had declined her kid’s paricipation to the test but told us later(when the kid got to 2nd round) that her kid had went to sit for the test on that day itself, despite submitting a non participation form earlier.

We are wondering if this is possible, why wld we need to submit the form of consent in the first place? N this wld perhaps also help parents with kids due for the test in the future.

OMG, I dont understand why an innocent question to understand n know more about the purpose of teaching SS can be challenged n misinterpreted.

I rest my case as it has now come under attack.

My mouth is ZIPPED UP since my question is not answered but being questioned instead.

So.. What's your point ?

Make IP students take SS exam at O Levels (to be fair) ?

Or make Pri Sch MSers take SS exams, like the GEPpers (to be fair) ?

I thought that for Primary School MS, they are taught SS but they are not tested. For Gep, kids have to take exams.

Don't think parents will be very happy to make SS a test subject for all.

Where did you get the idea that SS is not taught to IP students?

If it's optional, I would omit. You can always pop down to Popular/school bookshop if teacher requires it. My experience this year is even the non optional items the teacher may not use - so for next year, I got only the A book and then watch if DS teacher asks for it. If not, I will save the money on B book.

that's lucky of u can find so many books fr the library..I usually can find 2-3books only. And yeah, i also find the book doesn't look appealing to my ds..only after multiple nagging he would read them.

I wonder if all the books review must come from the ERP list.

Not ALL but most. The 'question paper' (for want of better word) will state if it has to be a book from the list. But at least it's a long list but kids only have to choose a couple. Better than short list and cannot choose.

Sometimes I will reserve books from NLB - save me having to go to different branches to search. $1.55 cheaper than transport there and back.

There r plenty of books available in library, just go down the list by author names to check…only problem are most of the books r a bit ‘dry’ n the more interesting books like Mrs Frisby r hard to find…I flipped through n rejected 2, but still end up with at least 8 books to read for this month…to the dismay of my dc who dislikes reading…
