There may be a lot more rich Teochew tycoons in Guangdong Province, but the Guangdong governor is always a Hakka, until recent years when it is usually someone from outside Guangdong Province.
There is a China saying: \"Shanghainese dominate China central government, Hakkas dominate Guangdong government.\"

（综合讯）据明报报道，十七大之后，张德江、黄华华的动向格外引人注意，身为政治局委员的张德江升任国务院要职应无悬念，而现在传出广东省长黄华华，亦可能与张德江携手北上，同样跻身中国国家领导人行列。

　　消息称，现年61岁的黄华华，很大机会循其前任“叶选平模式”，做中国政协副主席；消息又指，黄华华可能同时接替王兆国，兼任中华全国总工会主席，成为中国工人阶级的“老大哥”。

　　北京消息称，黄华华只能出任位高权不重的虚位，主要原因是年龄偏大，亦无其他省市的工作经验。

　　广东省官场客家籍官员较多，除了出生梅州兴宁的省长黄华华外，广东还有4名客家籍副省长，他们是常务副省长锺阳胜、黄龙云，副省长李容根、谢强华。在5人中黄华华、黄龙云和谢强华都来自梅州地区。

　　梅州是中共元老叶剑英元帅的故乡，叶剑英之子叶选平又曾任广东省长，叶选平卸任中国政协副主席后，在南粤仍有相当影响力，广东官场近年一直保持“客家帮”挂帅的格局，随着黄华华的离开，这一格局料将逐渐改变。 　　

中国总工会主席在中共政治架构中几经沉伏，最近三任的倪志福、尉健行、王兆国都是政治局委员，之前的刘宁一做过中央书记处书记，赖若愚仅是中央委员，但由统战组织的中国政协副主席兼任总工会主席还从未有过。

They were the only Chinese group that did not bind their women's feet, because they lived on hilly terrain, had to make a living and couldn't afford to have women with feet bound. You also have more Hakkas in the Cabinet than are represented in the population. They are supposed to be hard-working, tougher and therefore higher-achievers. So there are these differences even within the races.\"

Hainanese: Ya kun founder, Swee Kee boss, Singapore Sling inventor, Mah Bow Tan
Cantonese: Eu Yang Sang
Hokkien: Tan Kah Kee, Lee Kong Chian, Tan Tock Seng, Lim Boon Keng
Teochew: Lim Nee Soon, Seah Eu Chin, Cabinet ministers as above
