Both my kids are from E-bridge K1 and N1 since day 1. So I didn't have any experience with other centres to compare with. The teachers are friendly, classroom setting are alright. The centre doesn't prepare the food themselves. Food are from cathering. Not much homework as centre. I heard from my friend whose kid is in PAP, in K1 lots of word writing homework.

There is overwhelming evidence showing the benefits of parent involvement in their children's education. However, when it comes to helping their child learn to read, often parents feel ill-equipped to do so.

Our speaker, Ms Sally Pang will introduce you to :
- the developmental stages of reading
- fun ideas and games for word recognition and building phonetic awareness
- practical tips on how to read to your child

Speaker : Sally Pang

Sally Pang is a veteran of 18 years in the preschool industry and has a passion for training teachers to help children develop to their full potential. She is now the Principal at Maple Bear Hillview.

Sally began her career as a Preschool teacher at Pat’s Schoolhouse in 1997 where she showed dedication and commitment to every child. Her ability to understand and nurture all the children in her class, even those with challenging needs enabled her to bring out the best in them. From 2000 to 2004, she was appointed Vice-Principal where she assisted the Centre Principal in managing the centre and family day events. She acted as a mentor to new teachers and conducted workshops to support them during their teaching practice. In 2005, she was promoted to the position of Principal at Pat’s Schoolhouse Katong where the centre flourished under her leadership.

Her interest in curriculum began in 2000 where she was involved in teaching enrichment programmes such as FasTracKids. She attended International Conferences in Denver, Colorado and helped to develop curriculum ideas and teaching strategies. Between Dec 2010 and Feb 2016, Sally was the Curriculum Manager at Pat’s Schoolhouse in charge of training and supervision. In 2008, she visited infant and toddler centres in Reggio Emilia in Italy and in 2012, she visited preschools in Seoul to understand the project approach used there. Drawing upon her years of experience in early childhood, she was responsible for directing and implementing changes to both the infant and preschool curriculum.

Besides leading the curriculum team, she was also involved in the setting up of new centres during the pre-operational stage where she played an integral role in setting up Pat’s Schoolhouse Raffles. She supported the Centre Director in making sure that the furniture, books, resources, displays and the learning environment matched Singapore’s Kindergarten Framework and provided great support to teachers in ensuring professionalism at all levels.
She is now our appointed Principal for Maple Bear Hillview as she feels passionate about working with teachers and parents toward nurturing the children in a fun and holistic way. In her own words, “As a curriculum manager, I worked on improving programmes for the group but as a Principal, I am in a live environment where I have the opportunity to refine the curriculum and programmes to suit each individual child’s development as well as train teachers to use different techniques to work with the children in our care for every child is unique and special.\"

My Son is in Little Kinder Montessori at hillview. When we enrolled him, he could not speak and understand Chinese at all. Now, he could communicate with his Ah mah in Chinese! The school also open him to many vocabulary as he is always surprising me with new wordings which I never taught him: :rahrah:


The teacher ratio to child in this school is quite low (school fee is still reasonable), this is important as I prefer more attention can be given to my precious. However, do note the Minus point of this childcare, it is situated quite further in the landed property (though you can opt for school bus).

The in charge is a very nice lady who can empathise parents' worries. She will always response readily to my whatapps query on my son progress (sometimes with Photos)! You can pay a visit to the school to see if it meet your requirements since diff people have diff needs! All the best!

Am contemplating between the two although both cannot be compared apple-to-apple. Arts Kidz is really a play based learning through lots of arts and activities. But I will like to gather feedback from parents who have already sent their kids to either of these 2 preschools, most importantly does your kids enjoy their time there?

My boy is currently 2 years plus, thus I want him to enjoy his time away from home and gain knowledge through activities based learning rather than some of those very regimental/ classroom based learning.
