The school actually holds some events there such as the sports
meet, which is why many students know about it. Plus, the average of nan chiau's RAW L1R5 is in the 10-11 range, and considering that most get 4 bonus points (2 from hcl and another 2 from leaps 2.0), their NET L1R5 is around 6-7. NYJC cop is around 5-6, hence, many students see it as the best option (nyjc also quite close to their homes too)

OnlyDreams

Reply to Nan Chiau High School on Wed, 03 Apr 2024 03:19:43 GMT

Kirchhoff_Liz\" post_id=\"2121531\" time=\"1698241041\" user_id=\"96422:

Actually it's not the teachers' responsibility to chase ..... secondary school liao. It’s a SAP thing. Hence, it’s possible that SNGS IP may have a COP of 8 one day, if the last student admitted is 8 points without HCL. FWIW, NCHS last year’s COP is 12(D). Thus, a 12 point this year will be a slight drop in COP.

Assuming the COP is exactly at 12 points without HCL, the priority will go like this
11 before 12 (D) before 12 (M) before 12 (P) before 12. The explanation by MOE is as per below:

Students who obtained Distinction, Merit or Pass in HCL and have a PSLE score of 14 or better (i.e. PSLE score ≤ 14) will be eligible for posting advantage when applying to SAP schools.

If multiple students with the same PSLE score apply for the same SAP school, those with better HCL grades will be allocated a place ahead of other students.
