Hi qms, I wonder how you see some one haven't reported to Newbie?

Just look at the number of posts...

Unless Chief KS can advise me of a better and more efficient way? 😉

Your way is great as a rough gauge. Or you can do a http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/search.php of the user's name and see if he/she is listed in the Newbies' thread.

Not sure if you are aware we have a listing of members that signed up after March this year:

Actually, what I did was to look at the number of posts, and confirmed with a search for the author, so that I wouldn't end up barking at the wrong tree. 😉

By the way, Chief, how do I split posts? I noticed several newbies, instead of creating their own thread in the newbie section, tagged onto other newbies' threads.

            :!:

You are pulling your son out just because he is experiencing separation anxiety after 6 days? My son took almost a month to overcome separation anxiety.

This is part and parcel of the whole process of putting your child in childcare centre. So far, I have not heard of any childcare centre in which a child does not experience separation anxiety.

              Hi qms

Pardon me pls. Yup, I spoke to the Principal and she advised not to pull out that soon coz every child or most children will go thru such phase. Moreover she said that my son's behavior is considered alright as compared to other children 😛

Probably I'm a SAHM that's why I dont mind my boy staying at home till he is 3 years old. Anyway since he is there now, shall monitor and see his development.

The idea of pulling out is because:
              1) His napping routine change since he enters childcare. He doesnt sleep in the afternoon if he naps in centre.
              2) He cries more often at home now and very sticky to daddy.
              3) He doesnt wanna change his shirt when we are going out and he struggles a lot when we let him sit in carseat.

                Hi KopiYing!

These symptons happen during the transition phase. Unless you don't plan to put your son in nursery or kindergarten in future, you, of course, have the right to pull him out now. It is only a matter of time when your son faces this situation - that daddy and mummy are not with him for a few hours in the day. As parents, we have to keep assuring our child that putting him or her in the childcare centre doesn't mean we don't love them anymore. Every child is different. Hence, you will need to adopt your own ways to send this message across.

We have been through this phase, too, so we understand how you feel. Like what the principal suggested, you may like to monitor for a while before making any decision. :rahrah:

Does he have any teacher that he likes in the centre? Or, is there any teacher of his level that you like?

                  Hi again

He only has 2 tchrs – form tchr & chinese tchr. Din show signs that he likes any of them.

Yes, we are encouraging him. Every morning I will kiss him goodbye and remind him to behave in school and when he’s back will also welcome him home and ask whether he enjoy his day in school. But of coz, no response from him…

At times I will also ask him 你要去学校吗?He din shook his head but say要!Then we also recite 儿歌 about 幼儿园 to him.
