for E-math, it do requires a significant amount of practicing from the child. However, from what I have heard from my kids' tutor, the standard of O level is shifting and there will be a few more challenging questions that will come out in the paper to differentiate some students from the rest. Hence, besides being careful when handling questions that are repetitive in concepts, I feel that your tutor needs to also give your child some challenging questions that stretches their thinking ability. However, this has to be in moderation because you want them to learn without dampening your child's confidence. By the way, if any parent is looking for a math tutor, you can pm me and I will share with you my kids' tutor whom they have been with since 2019.

You can buy from Bras Basah complex, those push cart sellers. Ground floor and level 2 (up the escalator) got sell.

Level 3 (Knowledge Book centre) also got sell. This 2nd hand bookshop closing down soon, end of July.

Go quickly, before it closed down, because landlord increased their rental shop prices.

This Knowledge Book centre also have a lot of good, useful O-level Guide books, not just for E-Maths, but also for O-level (A-Maths, Bio, Chem, Physics, Chinese, Social studies, Geog, History), plus good, useful A-level stuff. Sorry to mention this but the school year has just started. Isn’t it a bit too soon to have tuition for your child? Allow your child some time to get used to the school environment first before pumping tuition. There is quite a big gap between primary and secondary school. A lot of students may perform badly in their primary school mathematics but soar in secondary mathematics. This is because of the type of Math that is done is totally different between Primary and Secondary school. So maybe you should allow your child some time into the school term first before making a decision to engage a math tutor.

Okay... I know this upper bound thing. BUT, how to convince the student into accepting it?

As in, some of the students can be quite stubborn and unwilling(and unamused) to accept this idea. Especially when the answer key in assessment book normally use the \"wrong\" upper bound(in this example, 0.034).

This comes under the topic of Number Patterns and definitely not at the MO-level. I would say that it is a pretty tough question for lower secondary students, but if it is as part of preparing for O-Levels in Sec 4, may be more reasonable.
