<![CDATA[Recommended English Books]]>Original Title: Any good English story book to recommend for upper level kid


Hello

My girl loves to read.She likes reading stephane mayer book, which I saw in the forum, its called chick book or something like that…

She also like vampire stories…but also particular with the print of the book as in the words…too small, she says she doesnt enjoy reading it…

Can anyone recommend some books with not so small print and its a good book to read?

Yesterday, I sent her to the library to borrow books to read and she ended up empty handed and went to boarders to read her vampire story instead…

Simple humorous books to get them started before plunging into thick books or classics.
I’ve alot of books which they have grown out of and encourage all parents to look for 2nd hands or library for such resources.

My ds2 read mostly Adventure box magazines and non fiction thin books before p2. The basic exposure to the non fiction facts path the way to future reading (eg he can link to fiction stories of Egypt, Greek, Rome etc settings on books). Try to expand the genre (eg we never did venture much into space and dinosaurs genre, so my boy shy away from such books due to lack of interest).

We read some of the following series mostly under JS in nlb .

Quest of the Gods
Dan Hunter

Magic Tree House series

Nate the Great series

Stink series
Judy Moody series
Megan Macdonald

Seriously Silly Stories
Laurence Anholt

Amelia Bedelia

After which I moved on to J section in nlb and found a lot more interesting books. One of the few starting books is Spiderwicks chronicles and Roald Dahl books. These too, which I find lower Pri kids will like
