The basic exposure to the non fiction facts path the way to future reading (eg he can link to fiction stories of Egypt, Greek, Rome etc settings on books). Try to expand the genre (eg we never did venture much into space and dinosaurs genre, so my boy shy away from such books due to lack of interest). <br /><br />We read some of the following series mostly under JS in nlb . <br /><br />My Weird School <br />Dan Gutman<br /><br />Quest of the Gods<br />Dan Hunter<br /><br />Magic Tree House series<br /><br />Nate the Great series <br /><br />Stink series <br />Judy Moody series <br />Megan Macdonald <br /><br />Seriously Silly Stories <br />Laurence Anholt<br /><br />Amelia Bedelia<br /><br />After which I moved on to J section in nlb and found a lot more interesting books. One of the few starting books is Spiderwicks chronicles and Roald Dahl books.
