Once the posting is confirmed on 22 Dec, there is no further action needed by parents unless they want to appeal. Just leave it to your kid to handle the rest 🙂

From my analysis of DHS COP for the last 10 yrs, it has hovered around at an average of 257. So your DS is virtually assured of a place in DHS, if it is his 1st choice.

I did not do research on HCI but at 262, your DS has a 95% chance of getting in. My friend's DS got 256+3 and he got into HCI (2014 cohort). For RI, should be very safe.

1) DHS (virtually guaranteed @ 99%)
2) HCI (95%)
3) RI (95%)

I may be wrong but I believe that for the top schools the COP should move up by 3 to 5 pts. My 2 cents......all the best to you !!!

Looks pretty reasonable seeing that VS ( O level) cut off last year was 243...so that is your safety net.
But just a note that all these schools are not in the same vicinity at all so am assuming distance is not an issue and that your DS is open to the possibility of spending long hours travelling or has someone to chauffeur him.

    However, the source of this information on Upper & Median T score seems inaccurate.

    For RGS, the upper T score is certainly more than 273. The top Gepper for St Hilda joined RGS and her score 275 excluding HMT.
    In DD's class alone, at least 12 out of 30 scored 269 above.

    The same for HCI too. The highest is not 270 too.

    T-score 275 girl should have entered RGS via DSA route as well as those 269 girls, you may want to help us to confirm ?

    Noted. If the source fr MOE booklet was for S1 posting and DSA route was excluded, it could be correct. My initial thot was DSA included.
    T275 is via DSA. As for those 269 above, 5 are Geppers and 2 MS via DSA and the rest from MS going thru S1 posting route.

    Yes, to my understanding, T-score reflected are students' T-score via S1 posting.
    Hence, if for example median is 265, that means majority students score in that range.
    Not forgetting, there are some appeal cases of school transfer after S1 posting, I believe the booklet's T-score are tabulated using S1 posting results, not including those appeal cases.
