Even in western medicine, the doctors will not only measure just the functionality of kidneys but the they’ll tell u if the kidney don't function at least 40-50%, our heart will function slower. However, they’ll tell u our kidney & heart will not function at optimum (100%) & that only a young child typically hv 100% functionality.

Exercise & appropriate diet can help us maintain functional level. Fr FIL’s chronic kidney illness, our families hv learnt the importance of mainly kidney health as a base. There are various cause for kidney failure - some stem fr individual genetic cause, others due to over toxicity of our diets & habits. If the kidney fails, the heart don’t get sufficient pump & further the lung function will decline. Advanced chronic kidney disease can cause dangerous levels of fluid accumulated & , electrolytes and wastes will build up in your body. I’ve seen how fluid accumulate in FIL’s legs & when he had too much fluid accumulated in his lungs, he can’t breathe & he’ll faint resulting in frequent admission at A&E.

The truth be said, as we age, our organs will all not function at optimum levels. Impt to keep ourselves fit thro healthy diet & exercises. When our blood circulation is good, our organs can process nutrients better for our body to function better. In TCM, the worry is blood statis.

Estéema

Reply to Let's Talk about National Service on Wed, 06 Jul 2022 07:22:43 GMT

Nebbermind\" post_id=\"2073418\" time=\"1657088544\" user_id=\"15571:

they used to say can even become fat by breathing (or drinking water)

In TCM, when our kidneys are not function as well as we were young, some waste water will be accumulating in our body cells and our weight will be increasing...

Liew Nga Wing

Reply to Let's Talk about National Service on Wed, 06 Jul 2022 07:05:30 GMT

Nebbermind\" post_id=\"2073424\" time=\"1657089954\" user_id=\"15571:

Looks like your hub is under-untilised :rotflmao:

Very true hahaha or we women are superwomen.....underslept or overworked......

Imp75

Reply to Let's Talk about National Service on Wed, 06 Jul 2022 06:45:54 GMT

Imp75\" post_id=\"2073423\" time=\"1657089827\" user_id=\"2358:

Sounds like from a man's point of view hahaha......my girlfriends and I pretty much stay around the same size (ok maybe up a size) as 20y ago..........maybe the mommies have been the busy ones chasing after the little ones and using up the energies....

Looks like your hub is under-untilised :rotflmao:

Nebbermind

Reply to Let's Talk about National Service on Wed, 06 Jul 2022 06:43:47 GMT

Nebbermind\" post_id=\"2073418\" time=\"1657088544\" user_id=\"15571:

they used to say can even become fat by breathing (or drinking water)

Sounds like from a man's point of view hahaha......my girlfriends and I pretty much stay around the same size (ok maybe up a size) as 20y ago..........maybe the mommies have been the busy ones chasing after the little ones and using up the energies....

Imp75

Reply to Let's Talk about National Service on Wed, 06 Jul 2022 06:22:24 GMT

janet88\" post_id=\"2073269\" time=\"1656998499\" user_id=\"12950:

when we reach our 40s and 50s, metabolism seems to slow down a great deal.

hubby did tell me he pumped petrol yesterday...the drop doesn't seem to be significant.

they used to say can even become fat by breathing (or drinking water)

Nebbermind

Reply to Let's Talk about National Service on Tue, 05 Jul 2022 05:21:39 GMT

when we reach our 40s and 50s, metabolism seems to slow down a great deal.

hubby did tell me he pumped petrol yesterday…the drop doesn’t seem to be significant.
