<![CDATA[Barker Road Methodist Church Kindergarten (BRMCK)]]>Original Title: Barker Road Kindergarten, Nanyang Kindergarten and St James.


Dear parents,

Anyone care to advise difference bet these schools? Which school is better? Nanyang Kindergarten only Pre N and Nursery 100% mandarin. Food they serve children very miserable.. Understand there's also high turn over of teachers.
As for Barker Road Methodist Church Kindergarten ( BRMCK ) and St James- What's the feedback? :lol:

As a parent, I want my child to remain curious & enthusiastic about learning. The mainstream syllabus is too pedantic & not broad-based enough.

Some MPs had suggested the removal of high-stakes exam and used a 10-year through-train education in the past. But I think judging from the responses, PSLE will stay for a long while.

The break time is for the kids to eat their lunch and chitchat. I heard of some parents who sent in sleeping bags for their kids to lie down on after lunch, in a separate room. The teachers will try to accommodate this, but from what I know, in practice the kids don’t fall asleep. Probably too excited to miss out on what the other kids are doing. My kid simply stayed awake until 3pm dismissal, then promptly fell asleep on the car journey home. As he got older (end of N1), he outgrew his need for afternoon nap completely, and I brought forward the evening bedtime.

My eldest boy is in K2, second child in N1 2018 and my third child will be following their footsteps and will be in N1 AM session 2019…

Never regret sending the kids here. But I do believe in increasing their academic exposure via enrichment classes externally. There is afterall, only that much that they can do with 3 hours in school daily…

My girl is in N2/ PM (afternoon) class in BRMCK 2017. The school bus picks her up at 10:30am for the class starts at 12pm, which is very tired for her. I’m looking for any driving parent in Bukit Timah Rd area with children in PM (afternoon) class at BRMCK 2017 who she could go together ( with a fee :-)) or any other bus service. If your child in other BRMCK Enrichments (3:15 to 4:15pm) any day is also ok. Pls pm or SMS/Whatsapp me at eight one 89 eight nine 86. Appreciate your help!
