Am new here and wanted some feedbacks or reviews on any good childcare centres in Pasir Ris or Tampines.
Can anyone here share with us your experiences (be it good or bad) for our consideration.

We did register our interest for the school below for centre visits etc. and here’s the status:

1) My first skool - registered but up till date no news (trust, no vacancy at the moment);

2) Mindchamp - arranging a centre visit soon;

3) Little Skool House - went to the centre at downtown east and my child seems to love it. The curriculum etc. seems to be good all but need more review on this centre. Anyone?;

4) Star Learners - From website wise etc. seems ok. Waiting for them to call me back to arrange for centre visit in Elias or Pasir Ris - anyone could share with me your feedbacks on these 2 centres, if any?

5) Kinderland at Loyang Point - Not much information. Any reviews would be appreciated;

6) PCF Sparkletots - registered but up till date no news (trust, no vacancy at the moment);

6) Any other school or centre recommendation?

I did the same thing when I searched for daycare centers Brooklyn and found a great Little Scholars daycare center. If it wasn’t for the internet, I’d have to go to every child care center in Brooklyn. But the most important thing is that you can eventually find a good center for your child. I think there is no more important task. I wish you good luck in your search. friend!

I think for younger kids in PG, there may be quite limited number of special arts and crafts activities they can offer for such young age.


Just to share, my LO is currently in N1 at Little SkoolHouse at Tampines Junction. So far, I am very happy with the Principal, teachers, spaciousness of the school, indoor playground and the activities. From the weekly pictures that the teachers would post, I could see the N1 kids doing activities based on the themes for the week/month (e.g recently they had Nature theme so the kids were pasting pieces of green and brown cut-outs to form the tree, the teachers even have some mini-scientific demonstration using rocks and leaves placed in a water container to show which ones sink and which ones float, etc).

Probably you can consider attending more CC open houses to have a feel on what they have to offer. If your LO is settling well in the Orange Academy and the teachers are caring/warm, I would probably suggest to observe awhile longer. Different CC has different ways of conducting learning… 😃 Hope this helps.

+ nice facilities
+ big classes
+ healthy lunch

- i tried to come in class they watch video from laptop to explain something
- no special materials for preschool. Everyday i see them only play with blocks, lego, or coloring… no special art&crafts like in reggio or montessori school

And at first day i did ask to the teacher / principal “do i need to explain to you how my daughter’s routines and how to calm her?” But she said “no no no need it’s okay” I don’t know it’s a good thing or no…

Now thinking to move, or just stay there…

Please help me to decided mommies!

My son was recently enrolled in PCF Nursery 2 mid year. Prior to this, my son has never attended school before. On a daily basis, my son is frequently taken out of class. On some occasions, he was brought by an accompanying teacher to the staff room and left to do his work while the teacher does her won work. When enquired, the teachers said my son was hard to manage and refused to listen. it has been four months and on many occasions, the teachers did not do anything when my son wandered off from his classmates or played at the back of the class. Recently, I saw my son running at the back of the classroom, in and out of the toilet, playing on his own for a whole 10 minutes. There were 2 teachers in the room with 5-7 other students. No one stopped him or corrected his behaviour. Only when a classmate of his shouted at him, then one of the teachers intervened. Before the teacher stood up, my son ran to sit on the floor with his classmates. When the teacher approached him, my son raised both his hands to shield himself and cried" No" a few times. He was on the floor and tried to slide away from the teacher. The teacher grabbed him by his shorts and turned him to face the teacher and left him crying in fear. I saw everything through the window. When I enquired with the teacher, she claimed that she had to grab him as he was running. When I called up the principal, i told her of my concern that my son was left unattended for a whole of 10 minutes and the teacher grabbing him by the shorts. She did not address the matter and told me that my son was hard to manage and suggested that I sit in next year with my son in class since I am worried about having a teacher grabbing him.

My son is four years old. He has never had any prior school experience before this 4 months as he had language delay. I had my fear of sending him to school previously as I was worried he would not be able to tell me if anything were to happen to him. I chose to enrol him in PCF thinking that it is government based and safe for him. I was wrong. My son was blamed for the way he was treated.

Does any mummy know which organisation I can go to with regards to this? Any advise?

We enrolled her on 1st July 2016 on her first day of childcare with much regret. Below is a summary of how the unfortunate incident transpired.

Me and my husband sent our daughter to school at 8:15am, and we waited for her breakfast time and we stepped out a while later. As expected on any child’s first day, our anxious daughter cried when she sees the new faces around her. I approached her office an one hour later around 9:30am, and my husband went to Picket Fence and peered through the windows. He was shocked and dismayed to see that one of the teachers was scolding her in a loud and harsh manner, causing her to be even more frightened. My daughter is enrolled to the N1 class and they combined all PGs N1 kids inside PG’s room.

To add to our dismay, our daughter was the only child sat on the floor while the other children sat on chairs. Initially my husband pretended to shield away from the window to prevent my daughter from seeing him. That caught another teacher’s attention and she communicated to the teacher using Chinese language. Then, the teacher brought our daughter to N1 classroom.

After that day’s incident, we text to their Director and requested for a face to face meeting on Saturday to relay the incident but there was no response even though we sent twice and follow up with a call. We thought this is so rude and unprofessional of him. We decided to withdraw our child the day after and the administrator merely gave up the withdrawal form to complete.

In summary, we are extremely disappointed with the way the management handles the situation. Some may feel that we are over-reacting / protective, but to put yourself in the childs shoe… is simply abusive to their self image and self esteem - what more on the 1st day of school?

We hope parents will make a wise move to do their due dilligence before enrolling into any childcare. (Do not be caught into deception by their marketing gimmicks through social media like FB).

Last of all, we have newly purchased uniform (L size) and their school bag to bless. Pls feel free to PM me if keen.

They are with Picket Fence Tampines for a week now but i am very disappointed with the teacher’s quality. One of the teacher ran out & shouted at my girl when I was there to fetch her home "Hey give me back the toys" while my girl is holding the toy at her hands. What?? ? This is totally unacceptable!!!
